The plaintiffâs lawyers argue that such messages prove Fox brass knew the claims that Dominion had âflippedâ votes from Trump to Biden were untrue â but âspread and endorsedâ them anyway. But the Dominion filing also lends ammunition to their long-held argument: that Fox allowed the false claims to air because it was fearful of losing viewers to Newsmax, an ever more pro-Trump news channel.
Iâm in South Tahoe ATM and there are similar places there, no water view, just normal homes, running $750K. I pity the fools who are just starting out trying to buy a home.
Derplahoma is one of the cheapest real estate markets in the country. We paid $93k for our 1927 bungalow in '11. In today's market we could probably double that pretty easily.
âIâm fine with opinion: conservative opinion, liberal opinion,â Mr. Wallace
said in his first extensive interview about his decision to leave. âBut
when people start to question the truth â Who won the 2020 election? Was
Jan. 6 an insurrection? â I found that unsustainable.â
I always figured that the history of migrant hippie hate was really hate for the forcing up of real estate and other prices. Iâm sure that there are now conservatives creating the same problem
I thought itâs been a thing for the past couple of decades, though, so nothing new, for Californians to take their massive real estate profits and buy up land in Oregon/Washington/Idaho/etc. Which makes the locals angry since they usually canât compete/afford, and likely thereâs some additional liberalism/conservatism that pisses off the folks in some states.
Anyway, I always figured it was money that was the issue, not long/short hair.
It's definitely driving up real estate* no matter who's coming, but it's always the "fact" that they're liberal and driving up real estate that really grinds their gears.
but I push back on the idea of âI donât like it so Iâm leaving.â
I think the real answer is to stay and make a difference.
California is (the former) home to millions of people who flee when there's a new Governor. Wyoming is currently seeing an influx of Newsom refugees but we're slow to catch on so we get Erik Prince (not from here but lives here) putting up billboards that say "Don't California Our Cody" because you know they're all libruls who want to bring their evil ways here
but of course it's white flight etc. going on now. We got a cop from Amador County who fled Newsom, and a lot of California's maga crowd are contemplating moving to Arizona, etc. So anyway when Deukmejian and Wilson were governor, Wyoming had a point: a lot of hippies moved... to Colorado maybe. Not here.
Let us know when you accomplish something personally.
I'll take dreek over dumb any day.
Itâs weird how I/we grew up with protest, advocacy, pressure on leaders but now the people who should be at the forefront now advocate sitting back until someone gives them what they want. Speaks volumes about how they were reared. And if they donât get it, they hold their breath and threaten to leave. Their unchallenged opponents think âAbsolutely! Donât let the door hit you.â
Triple vaccinated comedian suffers a blackout on stage while telling a joke about being triple jabbed, falls and fractures her skull - innuendo does not do it justice.
From the article:
In a truly unfortunate confluence of circumstances, comedian Heather McDonald reportedly told a joke that included referencing her vaccinated-and-boosted status right around the time she passed out and fractured her skull.
The convoy has been heavily promoted in U.S.-based right-wing media, including by The Daily Wire, Spotify host Joe Rogan, and of course Fox News.
Yeah, well, the right-wing disinformation and propaganda movement is now an international cabal. Australia has seen an uprise of misinformation and protest sourced and apparently funded from abroad. The latest is an attempt to mimic the Canadian trucker protest. The "convoys" are going to the capital, Canberra to protest state policies. Go figure.
I'm not getting the point of vilifying this very educated, very experienced, many-president-serving infectious disease specialist. Are people really still trying to say there's no infection? Are they trying to say it's not hurting and killing people?
Are they trying to say the hospitals and clinics aren't overwhelmed by the illness it's causing?
Because all that is true and mocking Fauci doesn't make it untrue.
So what reason on God's green earth would Fauci have to lie that masks and immunizations do work when they really don't? What does he gain from that?
All this vehemence and nitpicking and booing of Dr. Fauci is one thing only: adolescents (who think they're smarter than their parents) rebelling against authority.
The truth is that the critics are not more well read, not more well intentioned, not more capable, not more authoritative.
They just don't want to eat their vegetables or clean up their room and they're yelling "you're not my real dad" and telling all their friends how bad their folks are while they sneak a smoke behind the garage and feel like they're getting away with something.
