OMG! OMG!  Every time I hear the news from Paradise, it just keeps getting worse.  So Bill and Rebecca, I understand y'all  no longer live there...but  the horrendous destruction must have affected your friends and neighbors.  I pray to our God Creator that peace be with those families.

We live here on the Gulf Coast, but when a hurricane heads this way...at least we have time to evacuate.

What I'm hearing from Paradise is they had no time to escape.  I cannot imagine a more horrible death, and not knowing if their loved-ones are even alive...it breaks my heart!

That's Malibu Canyon Road heading to the coast, I think.  A long and treacherous drive at times depending on the weather, especially in the fog.  The tunnel was the landmark I recognized.  Many fires have roared through that canyon over the years.

Once famous for a minute as it was home to the Pink Lady of Malibu Canyon ...

Ah, yeah. I talked to him last night; the fire didn't come up, just the usual stuff. I'm sure it's smoky. He lives near my Sister-in-law and she hasn't really mentioned any worry other than smoke. They're about 70 miles away as the crow flies.

Yeah, it's been a years long drought here. I'm in the Central Valley, and it's very smoky - the air quality sucks every fall (harvest dust), but it's especially bad right now. We're getting the smoke from both Northern and Southern California into our area. Sure  could use a very wet winter - fingers crossed.

Amen to that!  Give us rain, beautiful rain but not too much at once cause then as you know we are sliding into the sea at that point.

Yeah me too.  If we all post on our social media outlets, I think it would help a lot.  This tragedy is the deadliest fire in CA with 42 dead so far and still dozens unaccounted for.  People burned in their cars and running on foot to try an escape the flames.  I can't imagine the chaos and the fear.  Most people understand hurricane and tornado relief but fire storms are lost on them.  It's devastating and becoming a way of life in my home state.
