What a masterpiece! I like the two different kinds of wood.
That turntable is as old as ME.

 The custom plinth is cherry. The arm board is Jatoba, reclaimed from a floor we removed on a remodel we did a few years ago.

Yep, got an SL 1700 from 1978 or so.  The only remaining piece from my original rig as a 20 something yo.

Give it a shot in the pots now and then with contact cleaner and lube the bearing with auto tranny fluid.

Solid as a rock.  Using it now.  Tubular Bells.

The speed pots going flakey and needing cleaning is a common problem on Technics tables.

Was having some speed trouble with my nearly 40 y.o. technics...got some deoxit and hit the speed pots, added some oil to the bearings and everything is back to the way it should.

Then there is this VPI which can accommodate up to 3 tonearms for only 21k
