I used to teach preschool, and my son used to have temper tantrums at the grocery where all the parents of my kids shopped. Kind of embarrassing. Finally I told him that he couldn't go shopping with me any more. When he got older, like 8 or 9, he would just sleep in the car while I shopped. Now they would arrest me for child neglect if I did that.
