While I disagree with Frankin's tomfoolery (seriously, Ben, did the lightning fry your brain? same amount of daylight, just at a different time on the clock), I do like the shorter days and colder temps. Obviously. {#Crown}

The blinking is good. Just be aware that there are very few lights out there that will allow you to see, only to be seen. Some do throw a good bright spot 20' in front of you, that's not enough and your eyes will adjust to make the un-illuminated areas seem even darker. Cats, glass, potholes, etc will be even less visible. So plan your route accordingly, if there are roads/streets with no lighting and it's overcast...

Right. I guess I should've explained that I'm not planning on riding in dim light. I get home by 3:15, and would still have a good hour to ride — the blink is all about being seen. Especially in those shadowy areas around curves, and with lower sun angles, etc.

Some of the cheapest sets are around $15. at Target. Just have to remember to go do it! No respectable Portlandian goes without them. I've seen many people "blink" in broad daylight, too. They're not taking ANY chances.
