I'm watching the Vanier Cup (Canadian University Super Bowl). Laval Rouge et Or against the Western Mustangs.

As the first half ends, they interview Western's coach. Below they display this stat: Mustangs are 10-0 when leading at the half. Talk about a useless stat. The Mustangs haven't lost a game all season. {#Lol}

Brazil Chapecoense football team in Colombia plane crash.

Playing in the final of the Copa Sudamericana was to be the highlight of a glorious season for the team from the small city of Santa Catarina, which has fewer than 200,000 inhabitants.

Founded in 1973, the team has only been playing in Brazil's Serie A since 2014 but is currently ranked ninth ahead of much more famous and established teams such as Sao Paulo, Fluminense and Cruzeiro.

Especially because the Japanese team played a highclass football over the whole championship. They showed technical and strategic very improved games.

Congrats to both teams!

And as a German I have to say that the tournament helped women's football to be noticed in the world.

Well, most of the world.... One wag here in the U.S. noted that the women's football team would have to move to South America to get noticed.

It was.  Very discouraging when Brazil got the equalizer, more so when Marta got the go-ahead goal.  You gotta believe a win like this will fire them up!

We got a new player in our team: DaMarcus Beasley who will enrich our left side (if he passes the medical check today or tomorrow).

Beasly, like the other US-American playing for us (Steven Cherundolo), is part of the US-Soccer team and came directly from the Rangers in Glasgow.

Welcome!

 BTW: This should be kopak-free-zone.... {#Nyah}

If he can leave a champion, it'd be hard to say it wasn't successful for the club.

watching the replay of the game. proud of the US boys. no one expected them to win...i know i didn't. they missed bradley who was the victim of a rubbish red card from the previous game.
fair do's to brazil...they won all their games and were the class of the tournament...PS...A CRACKING GAME.
funny how england can never manage to get to the final of a tournament!!
still, next summer in south africa right?
