Radio Paradise

I have just installed a pair of new Echos (part of the bundle with a sub that isn’t released yet) as a multi room pair (hopefully to become a 2.1 set when the firmware is updated) but when I try to use the RP skill I get the reply “Sorry I am having trouble accessing the Radio Paradise skill right now”. Is this an incompatibility with the latest Echo firmware (613509320) or with the multi room pair?

I have no experience with the multi-room pair. Anybody else tried that?

Hey there!

We have two Echo Dots and 2 FireTV sticks. RP skill is enabled for the Dots, and the RP app loaded onto both FireTVs

Lately (past 2-3 months), more often than not when I ask a Dot to play RP, Alexa responds with "Getting Radio Paradise from FireTV", followed up with an error message and to make sure my FireTV is plugged in, blah blah blah.

No idea why she's trying to fetch it from the FTv rather than using the skill (and the one she tries to fetch it from is never powered off anyway). I end up having to play from TuneIn instead.

Anyone else? Thoughts?

It just stops. We stream music from Amazon and local radio stations with no problem, so I'm guessing it's not our connectio/WFI/etc.

The skill is working and sounding great for me on my Sonos One too! Only problem I am having now is when I ask Alexa to skip, she actually goes backwards one song. So say I'm rocking out to Everlong, but then Stars Die comes on after it and I immediately say "Alexa, skip!", I'm back to rocking out to Everlong, which is OK but not what i was hoping for. But then Stars Die comes back on again which is what I was trying to skip in the first place.

any ideas?

A while ago you were mentioning to be working on making the RP Alexa skill available in other countries as well. Unfortunately, it is still not available in the German Alexa Skill Store yet. Any update on that?

Our new almost-here-as-a-beta (really, this time) web player has a mode that tracks playback on any device on your local network (or logged in to your RP account) - showing song info or the slideshow, but letting the other player do the audio.

That should do exactly what you want.

good marketing strategy for Amazon I guess, keep everybody dissatisfied with competing hardware to make us want to buy a real Echo. The "Alexa Enabled" label is confusing though and making me think that Alexa is broken and not my hardware. BillG wrote: Thanks. That's my current understanding of the situation as well.
