Government(s) will demand broad sweeping powers and enable their corporatist partners.

The evil central bankers/IMF will push for a one (single) world currency, which they'll issue/control.

And encourage a cashless society.

We might see some short term deflation, but due to a massively expanding money supply (government endorsed counterfeiting) we'll end with some nasty inflation.

Government will tax and censor the internet.

You'll have to get a government license too access the web too.

Expect more war(s), especially for resources, wealth in the ground, of course they'll be in the name of protection/terrorism.

Basic goods and services will get much more expensive. (water will be a biggie, food and energy are going to be up there too)

People will revolt, protest and push back, and they'll be labeled.

Your government will direct your law enforcement and military to squash any uprising.

I'll be labeled a cynic by those who haven't studied history.

If you're reading this, the Buffalo Bills will never win a Super Bowl in your lifetime.

And finally, when people are sick up and fed with entropy and desolation, the human race will rise from the ashes and hopefully understand that peace and prosperity through non-aggression is the only way to truly live.

*bump* the guy injured is a marine vet, 24 years old (Scott Olsen) he is in critical but stable condition

in my experience the vast, vast majority of public servants (to protect and serve) are good guys

moral, ethical and decent

where are they now?

why aren't they speaking up?

some soldiers are chiming in

peace

*edit*  i'm not necessarily talking about joe officer, although i do encourage them to speak up if they feel compelled, i'm really directing my comment toward the spokespersons, the reps/liaisons, the people who are designated to uphold the image of the dept/bureau/agency

I don't think that's true actually.  In a place with smaller population, and very big government, the citizens all feel like they are important, because they're taken care of.  But I don't suppose you'd call the Danish government "big", just cause of their relative size on a global scale.

So... maybe it's not "big" government, as in, "intrusive"... but just global influence.  And in that case, I agree.  The US, with it's absolutely enormous global influence, has tiny tiny citizens (they have no power).  it doesn't matter if we make even large adjustments about how much they do or don't interfere with free market... our government is huge and dangerous no matter what.  Which means I'm now agreeing with the statement, but perhaps not in the way you meant it.

I need to put on some coffee I think.

I just hope not too many people; children, old folks, handicapped, ect die in the process.  Things could get ugly out there if people don't have places to live, a way to acquire needed goods or food.
