Mine starts flashing at 93%. But around 9 months ago I hadn't established a baseline when I got the meter and it never got below 90 then got better before I did anything about it (before we had a testing program in place).

In retrospect, I should have been more worried about a resting pulse in the low 40s.

Anyway, it's Tuesday. I'm on day 8 of Covid-19 symptoms, tested 5 days ago, results came back positive on Sunday morning at 4 a.m. Oh, boy. Probably exposed by... ? The kids have had in-person classes so that's likely it. Hope I didn't share it last week. There are 3 "ooh, maybe" lapses that we can think of, they've been notified.

Friday night I climbed in the shower and noticed I couldn't smell the new bar of soap. Uh oh.  HE'S GOIN' DOWN!

Super weird to not taste anything but I told Justine to feed me healthy crap because hey. She gave me a salad with blue cheese, radishes, cherry tomatoes and I don't care for any of that... it was great! Didn't taste anything. Sad to realize we got $60 worth of fancy coffee beans yesterday. Maybe I'll go get some Folgers. OH right Justine's taster works fine. Dammit!

Hmm. Err, I, ***performance anxiety***

2021 So far:

New dishwasher! Is dead! I installed our new Maytag dishwasher the first week of December. 5 weeks later, I walked in and smelled burning plastic. Augusta thought a plastic lid had fallen on the heater thing and since we have been using the Sanitize-The-Shit-Out-Of-It™ Setting, I accepted that and after checking for melted stuff and finding none, we did another load of dishes. Alas, the smell must have been the pump or something, because there was still murky water in the bottom of it. Since it's brand new we can't just chuck it and get a new one, yeah? So we put in a service call and the guy was supposed to come today but OH HEY in the meantime I got the 'rona and so when they called to confirm I had to put them off another week or two. Oy.

So I've been working from home which is fine because I have the laptop that I use to log in when I'm on vacation but OH RIGHT it "took a dive" as they say in the insurance industry. Now it can't find the startup drive/SSD so... it's covered by homeowner's insurance, hooray! Which means that instead of just opening it up and putting in a new drive, we had to take it to Montana to an authorized monkey, where they charged the insurance $140 to look at it, up front, and called back a few days later saying "the drive is dead." The deuce, you say! So Justine's up picking it up now. I'll get to reinstall from a backup tonight and we'll see what's lost. Oh, and it's not a bigger drive for $89 like OWC would have sold me, it's a salvaged drive from an old computer for $100. So I'll probably order the OWC one anyway. What a debacle. And the guy says "it doesn't close properly now; the battery something something" bullshit he got a screw out of place so I'll have to take it apart anyway, I guess.

Oh and I got the covid. It is probably not going to kill me but it's not been fun. I walked the dog a few days ago and thought I might have to call for a ride. I was about 200 yards away. Oy.

I'll come back and spice up this story later. Olive Browndog met Bernie Sanders!

hey scott, glad you're doing well

i don't know your medical history or health status

just remember the first ten days or so are when the virus does a quick peak/replication and then tails off

that's usually not the issue or when most people have serious problems/challenges

it is day 10 through 30  they start to have immune dysregulation causing an inflammatory response

your doc may have given you dexamethasone or something similar to start around day 10 to dampen/mute that issue

please stay on top of that, the world is a better place with you in it

here's to you and yours getting better soon  {#Cheers}

p.s. stinky cheese rocks  {#Hungry}

Hang in there. It should pass. MOST people get through it quickly.

I haven't been to the office since the 8th of January so I think I might be on the other list.

Well, let's hope that is not the case!  Keep us posted.

Wishes for a speedy recovery to you and that you are the only one in your circles.

I share your feelings for blue cheese anything.  Just smelling it makes me ill.  Amazing that this bug can overcome stuff that tastes and smells like that.

Dammit!

Hang in there. It should pass. MOST people get through it quickly.

I haven't been to the office since the 8th of January so I think I might be on the other list.

Uh oh.
