I just have one direction, Down. And I have no problem falling or being dragged that way. 

Yep I do.  But every morning I have an opportunity to ask myself how I want to feel. Sometimes it helps, sometimes I tell myself to STFU and I roll over and go back to sleep.  Seems like I have to use every tool I've ever learned to defeat depression on some days.  Sometimes for days at a time. I think though it balances out with those days where everything feels just right and I'm actually happy.  I'm always looking for more tools.

Yup.  Mostly, I would love to just be myself....but sometimes, in Okieland, that's not safe or smart.  Sigh...

Yep.  In my case, it can happen during one day, like from morning to evening.  The struggle is constant.

No advice from this corner, but sure. Every day (almost) involves making a decision to keep on with the current plan (such as it is) or try something different. There's a lot of inertia to overcome if I actually did decide to change plans, so it doesn't happen easily.

I'm in a rough stretch of my life and I think about ways to improve it.  One day I'll be pretty fired up to move forward with a plan, and the next day it's like I have no energy or faith in myself to move forward with it, so I just drop it.  Maybe I'm more depressed than I think I am.
