The adenoidectomy is super-easy and not dangerous at all. She'll feel so much better when it's done. Have faith. She's going to do great.

It will be a year in February since Charlie had his tonsils and adenoids removed. It was painful and worrisome but he was treated so wonderfully by the surgery center staff and the surgeon, our worries were soothed. It was a full two weeks of pain and crying but the KEY is keeping the patient hydrated. Charlie became very reluctant to drink and was hurting more and more and I said "either drink the water or I'll take you to the hospital and they'll poke a hole in your arm and put water in there." He believed me and started drinking the water. And, don't believe the hype about ice cream. For the first few days, Charlie didn't want anything going down his throat. When he did feel like food again, we had a lot of milkshakes. Keep the water flowing and then watch how different things are for Lily with those dreadful adenoids out of there.

I'm sure Lily will come through the surgery just fine. Poor thing! I know how scary difficulty in breathing can be, and I hope this is the very last time both of you will have to deal with it.

We should do a video chat and Charlie can tell her all about it. Well okay maybe that's not such a good idea! Charlie's sleep/snorting problems are reduced by about 95% since having it done, tho, so it's been good. I honestly forgot how long the recovery period was, tho. I'd say a full two weeks before he was able to swallow without being reminded of it. But, really, I'll bet we can coach Charlie to say "it's not bad, and it made me feel better" or something, if you want to try it... |

I truly believe she will be fine. Good to know what's up and what needs to be done. Sleep apnea is no joke either—I know personally. |

I'm so glad they found a solution. Holding a vision of little Lily coming through smoothly, breathing freely and clearly, sleeping deeply, and everyone getting to enjoy the cat without worry! |
