Happy to hear OMD on RP! I think it's a first. I was a teenager in the 80s and a big OMD fan. This song I never liked at all though. Tips of great OMD songs (where those from 1983 and earlier are from the "cult" days of creating new sounds and not aiming so much at charts):

Souvenir (1981)
Joan of Arc (1981)
Maid of Orleans (1981)
She's Leaving (1982)

Messages (1980)
Enola Gay (1980)
Genetic Engineering (1983)
Telegraph (1983)
Locomotion (1984)
Talking loud and clear (1984)
Tesla Girls (1984)
If You Leave (1986)
Sailing on the seven seas (1991)
Dream of me (1993) based on a Barry White song
Walking on the Milky Way (1996)
Universal (1996)

And some non-singles I like:

From LP "Organisation" (1980): Statues; Promise; Stanlow; The more I see you
From LP "Arhitecture & Morality" (1981): Georgia; The beginning and the end; Sealand
From LP "Dazzle Ships" (1983): International; The romance of the telescope, Silent running; Radio Waves; Of All the Things We've Made
There's something about Mary...

That may be true.  Are you implying that only those 'better' songs be played?  How many of them?  Maybe just pick the one 'best' OMD song and only play that one?

This is one of OMDs worst songs. There are 50 better ones if not 100. Play anything from Organisation or Architecture & Morality. Or newer ones like Sailing on the 7 seas, Universal, Milky Way. Or Tesla Girls if looking for less known.
Wowwww, I can't remember the last time I heard this song. Thanks for the blast from the past, Bill!

I think they were trying to be polite. Bill can only play a fairly small amount of songs by any artist - bands like OMD are lucky if they get more than one or two aired here. So actually, yes, I believe they were saying, and I fully agree, to only play the very best one or two songs by OMD and that this wasn't one of them.

That said however, I love that this station airs lesser known cuts, even when I personally may not like some of them as much.

Personally, I'm in full agreement with your second paragraph.

So who picks those one or two songs?  Thing is, somebody already has.  The OP seemed (as often happens) to want to substitute their choice for Bill's.
I haven't heard this for the longest time. My fun-bumps have just melted with joy.........
If you want to look at some pictures of OMD I took in Brussels back in 1982, you may follow this link (and like my page if you wish) : http://bit.ly/2Xoi1Kk Enjoy !

This is apparently their only tune on the playlist. Architecture & Morality had some good songs on it.

There are better OMD songs.
OK this came out of nowhere, and I'm glad it did. I had this on vinyl (not a great album, to be honest, but it's a nice 80s throwback).
I wouldn't mind if Bill or Rebecca gava this one a try on RP
