Good tune!

Everyone knows the answer to that question is The Monkees.
One of the best things about RP is how it's helped me appreciate how much more there was to Crowded House and the Brothers Finn.
One of several in this set that is taking on a whole new meaning in this day & age.
Love the Finns!

That's right. I've always thought of them as the Beatles from Down Under.
This album has a lifelong reservation in my heart.
Yes!

I totally agree. They've a history of producing great music.

God, I love them.
the song is a bit dated but the tune, lyrics, harmonies...outstanding!
.......  outstanding work from God Like Crowded House  ...  {#Cheers}
Wow. I've never heard this before, but I could tell it was a late 80's song the moment i heard it.
This is a live version. Is it from Farewell to the World or one of the Frenz of the Enz productions? Anyone know?
An absolute GEM! The build up to the end of quite moving.

Speaking of friends at a funeral....while returning from the deep south to my Grandfather's funeral in Michigan, I'm standing there at the funeral home, during the viewing period the night before with my cousins who reign from Michigan, Oregon, and Boston....I wait for a break in the conversation and ask: "So, what are y'all fixin' to do?" Haven't lived that one down since.

Yes!  I came to see if there were dozens of comments to that effect.  Thanks for not disappointing me, Tom

A very rare not-particularly-interesting song from the Most Esteemed Crowded House.
This whole album is an 11!  I can imagine a lot of people requesting this song be played at their funeral.
The anguish... "How long must I wait ?... If you could change your life...."

RIP Paul Hester
I'm sorry, but after that set this is just bland, bland, bland.
GREAT
NO freaking way! A rare track off one of the best albums ever recorded. Woo Hoo. Love the Tim Finn harmonies...
someone needs to upload the new album. I think it's fabulous! I tried and couldn't get it to work!
I have a lot of fondness for this one. don't care what Neil says. :)

Props for the Crowded House, one of the best bands of all time. Unfortunately, this is one of their worst songs. Even Neil Finn later recanted it. :-)
Agree with this.
Very average, Edna.
Oh, this is Bad, real BAD!
Yeah, I care not how much people here ooze over the brothers Finn, this just ain't that good.

Ummm... what? This is one of the better songs from their best album.

If it's true that Neil Finn "recanted" then I would have to disagree with him. I like this one a lot.
I'm sure every band starts hating some of their own songs at some point. It doesn't mean that everyone else should feel the same way.

Of all time? Are you Neil Finn?

Not one of their better songs - yuk!
This is the one Crowded House album I never bought! But it's not too late! LOVE me some Finn voices!
Volume UP.
this song is proof that the communists just don't get it.

These guys are one of the finest bands ever. Such beautiful songwriting and melodies. Love it. Thanks Bill!
They were a really underappreciated band for sure.
Crowed House has always been a great band. They've scored more than one spot on one or more of my shows.

Crikey! I never knew Paul Hester was gone. Saw CH several times '91 to '93 - favourite song was always 'Italian Plastic' - one of Paul Hester's ! Might have to go and listen to it now. When and how did he die?
He hanged himself, very sad to say. A few months ago.

sadly, that'll never happen now (RIP, Paul Hester). so glad I got to see them in concert back in the day. my favorite band, ever... I hope all the ex-Replacements are in good health/spirits...I can still hold out hope for a 'Mats reunion
Bob Stinson died years ago.
Second generation Split Enz. Love these guys. The songs get better as time goes on. Neil Finn is a master songwriter. Keep 'em coming!
Wow... great song. Thanks BillG!
Wow, this starts up just like JAMES--Laid.

Was going to make a similar comment..... BUT seeing Neil solo or with his brother (on this last tour) had moments of that CH magic.
You're lucky! I saw them last February at the Palace in SF, but missed them this last summer, as they cancelled this leg of the tour due to Paul's passing....

I love Italian Plastic, too. he hanged himself in March. he always seemed so full of joy and life on stage...I guess he gave it all out and didn't keep any for himself.

Golly gee. Mystery solved. I'll finally get a good night's sleep.
Why did this remind me of (newer) Marillion? :O
Some of the finest musical stylings by CH ever! Neil is a great lyricist but not much for music writing....his bro' is an ace at that. GET BACK TOGETHER!
Unfortunately, I never got to see Crowded House in concert. Can you believe MTV used to play CH videos...

Your loss.

Thank you, may I have another?
More Crowded House! More Crowded House! More Crowded House!
Definitely one of the stronger lyrical efforts by CH/Neil Finn. Always liked the song, though the production sounds a little slick after some time has passed. I'd love to hear how Neil might handle the same tune now.
Fantastic song, fantastic album.
At first I gave it a 9... what was I thinking? Gotta be a 10!
Great song!
