You come on big when you're feeling small
You come home straight and you come home curly
Sometimes you don't come home at all
So what in the world's come over you
And what in heaven's name have you done
You've broken the speed of the sound of loneliness
You're out there running just to be on the run
Well I got a heart that burns with a fever
And I got a worried and a jealous mind
How can a love that'll last forever
Get left so far behind
So what in the world's come over you
And what in heaven's name have you done
You've broken the speed of the sound of loneliness
You're out there running just to be on the run
It's a mighty mean and a dreadful sorrow
It's crossed the evil line today
Well, how can you ask about tomorrow
We ain't got one word to say
So what in the world's come over you
And what in heaven's name have you done
You've broken the speed of the sound of loneliness
You're out there running just to be on the run
You're out there running just to be on the run
You're out there running just to be on the run
You're out there running just to be on the run
was she really a Nixon fan?
from comments on Wikipedia:
"Ms. Griffith was well known for wearing a "LBJ for the USA" on her guitar strap during performances. The Nixon-Agnew button has obviously added on to her picture. This is disrespectful to her memory and subtly distorting of her biography. 2600:1700:F160:5010:7800:7716:DCD3:494D (talk) 23:16, 31 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

At her performance the next night, a long-time fan gave her three Nixon buttons. She wears the LBJ button because of his accomplishments in civil rights and because he was a fellow Texan"."Image does show some undue political leanings, replacing with another image from commons."--☾Loriendrew☽ ☏(ring-ring) 23:26, 31 December 2022 (UTC)

c.
Still, her voice embodies that sweet southern sentiment that's not often found up here in the north. After all, this is a great country that needs unity.
An Austin girl, but she left long before I got here.
