I've learned to lose you can't afford to
Tore my shirt to stop you bleeding
But nothing ever stops you leaving
Quiet when I'm coming home and I'm on my own
I could lie, say I like it like that, like it like that
I could lie, say I like it like that, like it like that
Don't you know too much already?
I'll only hurt you if you let me
Call me friend, but keep me closer
(Call me back)
And I'll call you when the party's over
Quiet when I'm coming home and I'm on my own
And I could lie, say I like it like that, like it like that
Yeah, I could lie, say I like it like that, like it like that
But nothing is better, sometimes
Once we've both said our goodbyes
Let's just let it go
Let me let you go
Quiet when I'm coming home and I'm on my own
I could lie, say I like it like that, like it like that
I could lie, say I like it like that, like it like that
someone really has to explain why this child is talented?
she really is dogshit
That's the problem: people hate everything being different to their bidimensional way of adspecting the world. But, there is a way of growing: join a psychologist, and find out what it is you're fearful of.
Yo fucker, do not call her dogshit..
Especially when it presents unconventionally.
I remember the same attitudes to Kate Bush when she was young. I thought she was amazing then also. It just takes some a few years to catch up with reality. :-)

Can't understand the hype about her at all. Trite, whiny, non-melodic, shallow lyrics - a random teen off the street could probably write a more enjoyable song.
"a random teen off the street could probably write a more enjoyable song". Show me. I mean you speak with such authority, this should be easy for you.
I know. It sucks, but we gotta deal with it.
She's good.
Agreed!
I think this young Woman is really super-talented in so many ways. Check out for instance the Carpool Karaoke Session with James Corden from 2019 on youtube.
I think the real talent in the family is her brother, Finneas O'Connell, who writes and produces his sister's work.
What's so talented about her? It doesn't show in this song.
BUT SHE MAKES ALBUMS IN ALL CAPS!
and songs in all lower case
she's such an artist
If you don't see Billie as a talented artist then you aren't paying attention!

Why do young women purposely make their voices sound like cigarette-ravaged, raspy, 60-year olds. This would be a beautiful song, otherwise.
I respectfully disagree that Eilish's voice sounds like a cigarette-ravaged, raspy, 60-year old, BUT, if it did, I would probably like it even more than I already do.
That being said, in my early 20's I dated a young lady whose "whiskey-voice" I found incredibly sexy. . . so I guess this falls into the category of "one man's poison is another man's..."

she is a random teen of the street lol!
Just another stupid arrogant American?

Don't really understand why the cover here has to be creepy. There's a theme of creepiness in a lot of Billie Eilish's images. Saw her live at ACL and left after the first song. She's got talent but sometimes the energy is off is the best I can explain it.
Probably good for your Anterior Cruciate Ligament.
Radiohead, Billie Eilish - worst segue ever. Please don’t assemble these into one of RP’s pre-programmed sets. Unless you’re creating a “Navel-gazing Self-harm” superset.
? whatever. I liked the segue from Goodbye, just wish it had Steve Earle in there
This song definitely has a Bon Iver influence.
I thought exactly the same, and well we are right.

How did that go so terribly wrong?
I know. It sucks, but we gotta deal with it.
She's good.
She's good, ...or all the rest is really bad.
Listening to commercial radio sometimes, I'm starting to think the latter.....
It's suicidal mumbling. BLEAH.
Yep, pure sleepy Emo melancholy. This song could be used as general anaesthetic in open heart surgery. More soporific than a bottle of double strength Dreamy Sleepy Nighty Snoozy-snooze.
I guess that means you can identify to dog shit?? Hmmm....makes me think...
RUDE! You are rude. Your Mom did a piss poor job, in my opinion.
tell you what,
AT least my Mum sent me to school to get an education. not home schooled with hippy californian B.S
and yes dog shit is what comes out of a dogs arse.... so i wasnt wrong
she really is dogshit

Agreed...I pride myself on what an expansive library of music I have, in part due to RP, so I have to stay in the loop! Was always miffed that Adele (I realize very mainstream and overplayed) was not on here, as she does have great tunes that are NOT overplayed.
she really is dogshit
One of the things I hate about the Internet is that is it creates the anonymity for people to be shockingly nasty. Why not just say, "Her music doesn't appeal to me"?
If we can't master this as humans we're fucked. Oh wait, we already are.
she really is dogshit
What is the point of comments like this? "Maybe she'll be talented someday, but let's still play her now."
How much mumbling can one "singer" do?
BLEAH.
Then go listen to iHeartRadio or Spotify then
Have you heard everything else that has been popular lately? When my teenage son and his friends were playing this I was like, "Thank God it's not Ariana Grande again!"
At least this is interesting
Boy, that's a big coke spoon!
EDIT: Iwas talking about her giant pinky nail, just to be clear.
EDIT 2: whether she does it or not.
Full Grown Boy -> Winter Is Never -> I Am A Rock -> Karma Police -> When The Party's Over
was thinking that about your comment
Then listen to iHeartRadio radio since that is your speed
Play it on a system with a good subwoofer. Your windows will rattle!
I guess such a declaration depends on one's definition of the word "prodigy". Nice tune though; interesting melody lines - to me anyhow.
Agreed. Terrible stuff.
Isn't RP about expanding your musical exposure?
I'm just not ready to listen to someone born in the 21st century.
Makes me feel so damned old.

I agree that he's a tremendous talent, but so is she, and I think together they are a most interesting duo.
If you check her on YouTube, you'll see that they BOTH make ALL their music together!! She just basically sings, well, at that, and her bro does the instrument part. Lotsa mixing going on !!! And, they do it all right at home!!!
I like this. Solid 7 on first listen.
If you like this, you may wanna either buy an album (cd) or, go to YouTube, and check out her story & some of her other stuff. Bill just stated that Dave Grohl had some things to say on his Twitter. If Dave has something to say, I'm sure it was nothing less than praise. She's quite the phenom!! Enjoy! ✌️
Not sure if you've seen her acceptance speeches or interviews, but she constantly recognizes her brother's work on her songs. Yes she's his muse, just like Daltrey was Townshend's (and relax, I'm not comparing their music, just commenting), but she really does add her own layer to the lyrics.

I ordinarily think of the word "relevant" meaning "pertinent or connected to what is being discussed", so it sounds odd to hear it so often used as meaning "contemporary". However, it does have an additional meaning of "appropriate to the current time, period, or circumstances; of contemporary interest". Whether or not RP needs or wants to be "relevant" is a matter of opinion or speculation I guess, but I am pretty sure they don't want to be known as an "oldies station" either (even if many of the listeners here seem to encourage that). Anyhow, it seems that the author of the post you responded to was using the word "relevant" in a sarcastic or tongue-in-cheek manner, not as if it "means anything"; the "Heh" immediately following indicated to me that he was being facetious. Maybe not.
Perhaps. I question the use of the word "relevant" when I see it as it just isn't clear what it means in the context of whomever uses it here. What is relevant for one is irrelevant for another. Totally subjective as is every song ever created.
So many opportunities.
Please choose wisely
To be fair, I'd say his whole schtick is trolling the trolls, so...
A troll is still a troll, no matter how thoroughly they rationalize their behavior. I think think song is great btw. 7
its rare - but this is proof - the production of this track includes everything i often despise in actual music - but this breaths authenticy and an personal aura of the artist.
thanks rp for keepin on "educating" us...
Once again someone, you, used the word "relevant" as if it means anything. Do you really think RP needs to be "relevant"? They are doing an excellent job without having to worry about being perceived as relevant...or not.
Who started this "relevant" thing anyway? I mentioned in another comment that ever since Kanye What's his name stated that he made McCartney "relevant" again (LOL) he nullified the word. As if Macca needs that twits endorsement! Anyway, no one cares. (Whew! That felt good!)

Nice voice. Ok song. I don't get the Uber hype though....
If this song was released in 1979 rather than 2019, the negative comments on here would change their tune real fast. We get it's hard to recognize classic rock wasn't the end of good music or that the "kids" might be alright even if you're scared they look at their phones too long, dance too much on the Tik Tok or won't get off your perfectly manicured lawns.
