We’ll hide in the palaces
Tall wooden walls
On our own rites of passage
Fal da dilly-i-o my friends
Under moons of perseverance
Tall wooden walls
Unto us I am reverent
Fal da dilly-i-o my friends
Where two lovers go to be alone
For by the trees love
We’ll be at home
We’ll sleep upon the beds we’ve made
Tall wooden walls
Between poppies and nightingales
Fal da dilly-i-o my friends
With a head upon my shoulders love
Tall wooden walls
This is where I’ve always belonged
Fal da dilly-i-o my friends
Tall wooden walls

Under moons of perseverance

How can this have a 6.3 rating?
It's beautiful

Great voice, great guitar work ... but, yeah... I'm sure it's wonderful live.
It's a bit beige. Beige is ok once in a while - decent.

That has been my expectation every time this comes on. The only time I saw Richard Shindell his voice was not up to par and he kept forgetting lyrics. So did Jerry Garcia and somehow this was OK. This song has a nice flow.
He reminds me of Richard Shindell's style of vocalizing

Dull and uninspiring can be considered terrible (think Cowboy Junkies). This isn't any of those.
Wouldn't say terrible, just dull and uninspiring.

Not sure what you're listening to. This is merely fantastic. More Gren Bartley please!

I’m liking his effort to reach into himself and strive for his own interpretation of a multitude of tracks he, no doubt, grew up with. 🎩 Hats off to you man!
Gren Bartley is a prolific and exceptional songwriter. Releasing a new album in the Spring of 2015 from renowned producer Gavin Monaghan (Robert Plant, Ryan Adams, Nizlopi, Ocean Colour Scene etc…), the new record builds further on the reputation from the previous two albums out in the last two years.
Showcasing his “phenomenal” guitar playing and poetry driven lyrics, the Gren Bartley Band will be touring at venues and festivals throughout the UK and Europe. Stunning harmonies, driving percussion and intricate string arrangements for cello and violin, the new line up has been captivating audiences across the UK.
Gren is truly the future of folk songwriting, using his influences from folk and world music traditions to bring something unique to this modern day troubadour. He is an artist not to be missed.

Sounds a lot like Big Big Train to me.

Perfect Match Of Tu Sei
When two lovers wants to be alone
Finds a way that nobody is at home.
And pizza boy goes on trial for not skipping
The extra mayonnaise, and for being nobody.
By the look of the crowded alley
I say, you're a quite an incident..
