When I have lost the will to fight
You give the blind a second sight
You keep me up all night
Sometimes the moon, sometimes the tide
We are the horse, we are the ride
We are the bird, we're taking flight
You keep me up all night
Oh, don't it seem that it's better than a dream?
Every time with you is made of gold
Oh, don't it feel nothing's ever been so real?
'Cause you take me to the bottom of my soul
You keep me up all night
You keep me up all night
You give the blind a second sight
You keep me up all night
Sometimes the cut, sometimes the knife
Always the hand that holds my life
You keep me up all night
You keep me up all night
Oh, don't it seem that it's better than a dream?
Every time with you is made of gold
Oh, don't it feel nothing's ever been so real?
'Cause you take me to the bottom of my soul
You keep me up all night
You keep me up all night
You give the blind a second sight
You keep me up all night
You keep me up all night
You keep me up all night
You give the blind a second sight
You keep me up all night
You keep me up all night
You keep me up all night

Ever heard of assonance you illiterate twat. Yes you commented 5 years ago but so what. Your ignorance needs correcting. As well as your spelling.
Gee you responded to something 5 years ago, you must not have life then
(the opposite of the illustration below but with similar effect!)

Interesting thing about her - I remember when her first single came in the mid 1990s, "One of Us", and man was it a commercial pop worthless song. But a big hit. Then I started hearing other songs on her album that were damn impressive. So I took the chance and bought the CD used. Whole album is great....except for that stupid God song. Turns out that particular song was not written by her, but Eric Bazilian of the Hooters (both Bazilian and Hyan of Hooters co wrote many of the songs with her), and forced on her so the album would have a commercial single. Turns out to be her biggest hit and her worst song. Such is pop music....
Brilliant pop song.
..as do certain opinions, imho.. :-P
I second that.
Hey hater, try spending 15 seconds with a regular dictionary to check your spelling next time - or better yet, say something nice
(The particular song order I was delighted with here was Nick Cave "Let the Bells Ring" to Joan Osborne "Up All Night").
Thank you.
and to a weak bladder.

Fair point. See, that's your basic subjective evaluation in action. Carry on.
That's funny. I usually don't like her sound, but I do like this one. It's upbeat and fun.
Well, unless she has a newborn.
Or a young boyfriend
Not Joan at her best.
PSD.
And there were groups of women wearing dresses that were spinning like tops (dervishes) in the moon light...it was beautiful.
Well, unless she has a newborn.
6 to 7
good point :)
Of course not. Practically no mainstream music from the last 10 years has dynamics.

Up All Night Vs Shake Your Hips
In the song "Work On Me" by Joan Osborne (album-version), Joan chose to use in the high notes sound, support the voices of the choir isolated at the end of some lyrics, instead of ending with your own voice, which could be falsetto. I've heard another version by Joan sing the song in full direct voice sound, and i liked it a lot. "Work On Me" it is the most beautiful song of the entire album "Love And Hate".
In the song "Up All Nigh" which is beautiful "flashy" and easily absorbed (and a very radio format), noticed that some choices were made, for example, voice with a some "megaphone" effect (which tapers texture voice already used by Joan in other previous records); the overall sound of the bass-guitar, also opted for a narrow-bass line rather than a bass must broader spectrum. Are options, however to hear the final mix, think the final record could have been improved with other options, and must confess that i´m not very adept these "effects" of sound engineerin, except in electronic music especially designed for the use of these effects. Add that the singer Joan Osborne, needs nothing these extra "help" voice devices, given the qualities and natural talent, and if the aim is to strengthen further the popularity covering the largest possible number of layers of public (for songs "rotate" in cars, nightclubs, dance halls, where listeners tendentiously "eat-all"), and then enable eventually lead these layers of audience to more elaborate artistic works, in my view, the means maybe do not justify the objectives. Obviously i say it, perhaps because i don´t base myself on commercial perspective.
In addition, still say it's understandable that a album of 12 songs be advisable to include the most possible nuances of this artist, and hence, the inclusion of songs more energetic, more "danceable" (which combines perfectly with the sensations of artist Joan, who is a dancer too!), with other more serene songs, more "slow". And interestingly, the facet of singer Joan i appreciate most is the more serene, more emotional songs. Points of view. Anyway, the quality temperate voice and versatility of Joan Osborne looks good in almost any song.
Already, two other excellent Joan Osborne songs are "Sara smile's" and "Midnight Train to Georgia" (1973 Jim Weatherly), which i recommend to RP include briefly in playlist. If it is the case. Hmmm...
Love this woman. She’s amazing live.
