Never feel the rush of angels, when we stay up late alone
Never whisper you a great love story, only scream and cry and moan
But you're a good man, but you're a good man
I keep telling myself to just let go
Oh, let go of the one who took all your gold
I get home and there's a love note waiting
But only he is here tonight
And the words, the promises you're making
Only echo all these lies
And for every sweet nothing you whisper
Why is goodbye my reply?
'Cos you're a good man, 'cos you're a good man
I keep telling myself to just let go
There was someone that I knew before
A heart from the past that I cannot forget
I let him take all my gold, and hurt me so bad
But now for you, I have nothing left of all my gold
Stare my heart blank, am I ever gonna let him go? Get my gold back
And today I was a dead girl walking, see the light burn through tears
Heard you say my name and get to talking of the love and all the fears
And you saw all the pain I was holding, and yet still you'd hold me near
'Cos you're a good man, 'cos you're a good man,
I keep telling myself to just let go
There was someone that I knew before,
A heart from the past, that I cannot forget
I let him take all my gold, and hurt me so bad
But now for you, I have nothing left
'Cos there was someone that I knew before
A heart from the past, that I cannot forget
I let him take all my gold, and hurt me so bad
But now for you, I have nothing left of all my gold
Yep, and yep - she isn't bad for a high school teacher, eh? The cover is intriguing and likely stack full of deep meaning about gender roles. I'll bet it took a bit of time for her to arrange the boys limbs in the appropriate ways to hide her 'naughty bits' ;-)
Here are some comments of Natasha's about the album cover.
That's because you listened to the wrong music.
And yet, quite listenable, strangely enough.
The percussions of Kate Bush, the vocals of Tori Amos and the weirdness of Björk.
Me gusta! ;)
Throw in Yoko and you’ve nailed all of the worst or the worst…. Just unlistenable.
Unfortunately not. A little too close.
Sorry to hear that. Maybe you should have been listening to more music.
This new way isn't perfect either, but it's an improvement.
And Bat for Lashes (Natasha Khan) is a talented and thought-provoking artist, bravo to her.
Me gusta! ;)
Still Shrill
Still better than a shill.

Actually way before the end :^ / I gave it the big Ho-Hum and that was being generous.
Looking through some of the comments, especially the earlier ones, could it really be that this song is being played because of the album cover? Surely such superficiality doesn't belong here?
No, Bill generally doesn't play tunes based on the album covers. I think it's more likely that he likes the work from this artist (since there are several tunes from both of her albums on the playlist) and it's unlikely that he selects artists and songs to play by "mistake". Just because you fail to find any "redeeming features" in a song doesn't mean other people do not, or that the person playing that song has made a "mistake". Perhaps you are more egocentric than you believe.
This is the first song today that has made me wonder how it got here, and I tuned in about 3 hours ago. So while I can be grateful to RP for this time, and I'm not so egocentric as to think that every tune has to be to my taste and liking, I can't banish the impression that this was a mistake. I feel hopeful there must be some redeeming features somewhere, but I'm darned if I can find them. OK, perhaps the abrupt ending. Anyone care to help me out? Does it grow on you?

Actually this is pretty good. You could drop Caro Emerald, though, if something needs to leave the playlist.
This... I feel like I walked into the Red Onion on a Friday night in 1989.
Her music seems to lack form...nothing to really get a grip on. I want to like it because she seems really interesting, and this is a good attempt to be original...but it's not really doing much for me.
Yes i fully agree .. I was trying to get into it but I failed as to me it seems to be going nowhere and thats why I cant connect I assume.
No, it will never go away because too many people seem to favor communicating by only using clichés.

I love this tune! In fact I love the whole album... including the cover.
Not all the 80's were bad, but some, just like with every decade, weren't so good. Just like some comments here aren't so tasteful, they are never the less just opinions.
too bad you can't rate something a 1 more then ONCE
I resemble that! but I do like this.
What a horrid job " get nekkid and hang on her while she is nekkid too" O please, do I hafta?
Mean AND Truthful
THIS IS HORRIBLE
No Doubt? Garbage? Are you sure? Make up your mind. Sounds like Bat for Lashes to me. Not sure I like it that much either...now that you mention it. I happen to like Garbage much more than No Doubt or BFL.
Who are you kidding?
AH! Maybe that's what this so strongly reminds me of.
"Excuse me, there is something on your shoulder."

my sentiments exactly.
