My people came out of the forests and the mountains, into this unpromising land.
Scratched out a living in this desert valley; hard living for any man.

It weren't no Eden, as cold as Sweden, like Hades in the summer time,
We built the cities, we dug the ditches, we picked the fruit from the vine.

Hey, Bret! You know what time it is? (X 4)

Skip forward four generations, comes a great transformation (not sure about last word)
But I'm living in the (?) - rhymes with 'herb'

Trying to make a living, playing on my SG Gibson, tending bar and sometimes selling herb.

We live like serfs, in this new feudal land; we pay the bills and fight the wars.
I ain't no woppy(?), no pinko Commie; let's start the end times right now!

Hey, Bret! You know what time it is? (X 4)

Did they just give up on writing lyrics? A nice driving sound; maybe they should have left the words out.

Well considering the following song was "Throw Your Hatred Down", I think the message is:  "Cracker, Throw Your Hatred Down!" Message noted.   Time to reactivate my Spotify...

Time to change the radio station.

{#High-five} Bill did it again!

I love Cracker and Camper Van Beethoven, but this song MUST be the weakest Lowery ever wrote. How about some 'Take the Skinheads Bowling'?  NOW we'd be rockin'.{#Cool}

Pedestrian —- and i like some of their stuff

Its past your bedtime Bret, now plz leave quietly otherwise you will wake Mick Jaggers anger.
It's time to stop playing that gawdawful song...
I wonder if Bret knows what time it is.  {#Beat}
oh....mi...god.......y don't u just shove scissors in my ears?! {#Fire} {#Frustrated}
You buncha hating haters. This song rocks.
Holding my ears and yelling LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA....as loud as I can as I ran to the powered speakers in our office and hit the Off switch. Now breathless, I turned around to see the others in the office looking at me with that "what's up with him" look........

Ya.  I'm a big Cracker fan... but this song is terrible.

oh crap...I thought it was over...
There should be a rating for "Station Changer",   I'll be back in a few
Ye Gods, this gets worse at every hearing.
One of my favorite parts of living in Charleston SC is that Cracker comes calling like clockwork every summer.  Lowery has the coolest voice in Rock n Roll... check out the old Camper Van Beethoven stuff.

Saw them July 31 at the Windjammer on the beach at Isle of Palms.  To my shock, they were blown off the stage by their first warmup band, a local act that has gone regional here  - called "Crowfield".  Crowfield will be big, mark my words.
First RP-induced head-ache.    Ouch.  Hope it disappears fast.
Bill, please take this song off or just play it after midnight PST for all those late night headbangers. I really thought I had this song out of my head last week when it stuck for over 3 days. Now I get to enjoy the weekend with another songworm.
Tell me what time it is!

Aaaarrrrrghhhhhh!

Hey BRET! Time to puncture my eardrums{#Frustrated}
{#Puke}
The guitar reminds me of Kieth Richards-not that that's a bad thing.
I don't care who Bret is, but someone should buy that guy a watch! This song makes me feel like it is time to stab myself in the ear.
Phase I   {#Sick}
Phase II  {#Puke}
Time to take a break.

Time to pull this POS.

          It's OK, but it's getting too much rotation.
Well done chaps! 9 thumbs up
Hmmm, he can't sing and they can't play.

everything this guy does sounds like Petty.  Except Petty's a talented songwriter!

an anticipated comment, I know but... OMG... it's time to hit MUTE!

Its just fun good old smart ass rock and roll! All you people who want to over analyze the musical precision just go and listen to Bach or something and leave Cracker alone!{#Bananajam}{#Motor}

What musical precision?

For that matter, what music?

You know what time it is?

Time to pull this POS.
I love cracker, but this song just doesn't do it for me.
This song rocks!

Big John.
Rocking the roll since 1967.
Always amusing opinions and commentary by my fellow Radio Paradise listeners!

Dam it!, I was preparing a proposal to the administration at Princeton to  start teaching a class this fall on musical analysis, and I was going to use this Cracker album as the focal point of the course. Because of your post, I'm now having second thoughts.....perhaps it's for the better. {#Confused}

Cause you aint got time to check it
You know my suffragette city

hmm, kinda sounds like "Jammin Me" by Petty.
I know what time it is.

It's time this song ended instead of repeating the same thing over and over and over.

.....and over.

Please tell me they're paying RP to pay this POS.

most excellent (song and album both)
The Time? Its Blasterpiece time!
Not bad.  Better with more words or fewer seconds.
Filler.

Looking at the rating and the comments, I can understand the hum-drum reaction to this song. So what if it's nothing special and even bordering on annoying there at the end... the thing still just flat out rocks. Sorry, can't help but turn it up every time. Guilty pleasure, I guess.

Amen.

But it's not a guilty pleasure to me - just a pleasure. This sound makes daddy and mommy rock good.

Great tune, but has anyone managed to work out whether they're talking about Brett Favre, Brett Michaels or Brett Somers?

16:20 UTC?
{#Meditate} 9:20am here...  almost time for a coffee break
{#Yawn}

*looks at watch...wishes the song were over, already*
its time to get a watch
In reply to the neverending "tell me what time it is" refrain, I would answer, "time to give it a rest." Cracker has definitely had better moments.
There used to be a local guy here in Nashville who was billed as "Uncle Cracker" ... think he had a hit or something.

This track?  Ack! Stepped on a tack, done broke me back, took an offhand track; everthang went all wack; had this Top named Mac; took me down town to an alley, got some crack; bit chunks out of my sack.

Alak!
Hey Brett!  Do you know where the stage props are?  ;) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IKC88I7hNg

Hey Brett!

You know what time it is?

Time to retire and stay retired...
My son's name is Bret
Don't see too many spelled that way....one "T" instead of two.
Cracking goood. 9 thumbs up
{#Yawn}
A little disappointing for Cracker... Still... not bad.
Can you say 'insipid'?

I thought so.
Cheese and cracker.

Or in a suit and a tie.  {#Yes}

This song was over a long time ago.  Or shoulda been.

It's time for the next song. Thank you.
I thought the song rocked pretty well, even with the annoying ending

I love the music here, but lots of it is on the quiet side, so I appreciate it when a song has some onions without crossing over into a style of music that I don't care for.

7.5

hmmm....
Just the opposite for me.  Though I'm not a Cracker fan from way back.
They've all caught my ear so far (I bought the album—it's on the way)

I dig it.  It doesn't have a standout hook like some of the best Cracker tunes have but this song rolls along nicely and has some good attitude.  Definitely good tunage.
So far, don't like it as much as Greenland. Nothing really catches me. We'll see.
Time for the annual (un)retirement dance?  Thought Favre spelled it with two Ts though {#Nyah}
This REALLY sucks.
We dress like students

watch out for annie the bear,,,, the bear doesn't like cracker's

Bad day, Annie?
Know what time it is?  Time to mute this song until they come up with a less repetitive ending.
