Having being born a smidgen too late to appreciate this music at the time, I was familiar only with Talk Talk's big hits. Over the past couple of years I have heard a handful of tracks from this album, on RP, and I have been blown away. Such craftsmanship. Thank you, RP!

hard to believe mark is gone...such a loss.
Any time there is an opportunity for listening to them I'm remembering the struggles I was fighting with their and this kind of music. Today, growing older, I don't understand myself anymore, because of listening this kind of music any single day.

Mark Hollis/Talk Talk are gold standard for any period…
Talk Talk are musical legends. They are the original beating heart of whatever we call “Post Rock,” but why not just ignore genres and call it highly evolved music. It took me a long time to get into this album because it was such a strange collision of so much different music. But when it finally hit me, I felt like it had been with me all my life.
I also really respect Mark Hollis’ approach to his career. His early retirement frustrated all of us - the fans - who wanted more music. In one of his extremely rare interviews he explained that he could not be both a travelling “rock star” and still be a good father to his two young sons.
It was so tragic to lose him permanently. This kind of genius and good heart is too rare.
One of the finest pieces of popular music ever recorded from one of the finest albums ever conceived. In 300 years from now, students of music will study this.
That harp will just destroy you. I wish we could fight wars with music. Then the healing would be a solid stone set-up. Probably wouldn't even call it war anymore. Maybe call it done with...
solid 10 the entire album,, put on your headphones and chill out!

This whole album AND the album Laughing Stock are in regular late-night-whisky-in-hand-dark-room rotation. Absolutely incredible works of art.

They've some great tracks but I hate to say that it's difficult to get excited about this at all. Ho hum all the way. Sorry.

Amazing work! Easy 10! Praise to RP as I would never have stumbled upon this record or any of their other music. By the way, this record is best suited to late night listening.
Sublime just edges a little nearer to a description of this.
Song is 8 minutes long... about 20 minutes too short. Listening to the entire album puts me in a state.

Awesome band. Loved this album but I feel Hollis did start to lose it later in life. His music started to get real weird!

The most underrated album of all time.
I will admit that it took me, even as a major TT fan, some time to get used to this album when it was released. On the heals of some incredible, and more commercial, material. But when it hit, it really stuck. I would later come to understand why so many of the world's musicians put TT on a pillar and why they had become so revered.
I will say that over the years I would search for more and more (band info, Mark Hollis info, music, back stories, etc.). So little info in public about this great band...but isn't that how Mark Hollis really wanted it? Less can be more...how refreshing. Resulted in what could be the best band nobody's heard of (or remembers).

Love this..............as a bonus it is THE piece that my son and I completely connected on. Our tastes are different. He holds Pink Floyd and the Dead in the highest regard. I think I appreciate them but don't share his enthusiasm. It is hard for him to understand how I can't see it. But I see this. Thanks again Bill.

This song never works in PSD -- it comes up but doesn't play anything. And that's a shame because I rated this one an 8!

Talk Talk is terrific cross country road music. I switch in and out of paying attention to it depending on the scenery and road conditions.
Otherwise: 10^3 thanks for the terrific music! We will still be listening to your music and talking about you when your grandchildren have gray hair.
