  maybe he means mexican trumpets...not ALL horns...certainly not sax or jazz trumpet like botti!

Thought I recognized that sound.....I've seen him on stage in a smaller setting, what a great sound he gets live, great performance.

Just putting myself in the theater for this live performance.
They've been here in Darmstadt, Germany a few weeks ago. It was an outstanding concert!
Muy bueno!
Caramaba!!! Damn they are good!

I saw them with Neko Case last year. It was easily one of the 10 best shows I have ever seen. Calexico joined Neko onstage for a handful of songs.

No gimmicks, just a bunch of incredibly talented friends having fun and letting the audience hang out and watch.

If you get the chance, go see both of them. They are true artists, in every sense of the word. {#Cheers}
Me encanta esta banda
Would absolutely love to see them live!
Excellenti !

Geniales.

"I really wanted to see these guys live, and when I saw (very recently), all my suspicions were confirmed: they are the host.

The concert highlighted the immense quality that house these guys inside, and how good they are on stage.

Create a calm atmosphere, special ... a small world of sound that takes you quickly into the desert from his hand, where they live snakes and scorpions. And there you can stay as long as you want, because they go on and coddling the atmosphere.

Cool."

Great DVD of this performance — the whole show is outstanding. Calexico were a favorite at Bonnaroo in 2004.
Terrific everything ! {#Bananajam}
these guys are pretty cool

Thanks alot Danny_G (Lima)
Strange - isn't it?
Mister Meola is the technically better guitarist,
but he moves nothing in me! NOT A THING!

Now Calexico - and it is all different!
(not that they were my favourite band or music)

Ahhhhhh!  SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than the cacophonous "old jazz" inflicted too often, presumably for the sake of "variety"!

Signing on to RP as Calexico strikes up the intro - my day is made. Check out their live DVD if you can - and make sure your DVD player is hooked up to the stereo when you do. Sublime.

The beginning drums sounded almost exactly like High and Dry by Radiohead. I settled myself in, hoping to indulge, but then the horns started and I was like "WHOA!"
The same thing happened to me.
HOT!
Al DiMeola followed by Calexico playing El Picador ..... Bill must be back in "Spanish/Flamenco" flow again. Cool. What a welcome break from The Shins and Loud Mouse.
I've seen them thrice here in merry old England. They like playing in London -- their concert at Ocean was one of the best I've ever seen. Not so great at Shephard's Bush.

Perhaps because both countries begin with a 'Sw' and get lots of snow?

Still waiting in Geneva - Florida, that is. No sightings yet.

Yes, that's almost as if they would have played Antarctica or the moon! Fantastic! By the way, do you know that the only way to get to Sweden is by dog sleigh? (And how come Americans always have to mention Sweden in the same context as Switzerland?)
