Happy songs for Happy People  -  definitely the best of their album's in my humble opinion....
Loooooove this tune, and just about every other one on this album!  Fantastic!! and takes me to some weird happy-melancholy place (is that possible?! - I guess it must be  {#Meditate} )
I don't have a problem with the song, but happy? This song doesn't ellicit happy at all from me, even after I kill a fly at 10 paces with a rubber band.
More Mogwai.

Never, ever get him wet.

(I loved that movie.)

That comment made my day! But I fixed it better for ya! Amazing how one character, more or less, can really ruin things. (edit: now that I think about it, yours'll probably do the trick in some environments)

This is nice background music to write to.

No.
Apparently the new way to kill flies is with spooky, portentous boredom. Who knew?
Inoffensive, but kind of boring.
Wow. I haven't heard such excellent use of the Vocoder since Trans!
They're o.k., but whatever you do, don't feed them after midnight.
All I can think of is that GEICO commercial with the cave dude in the airport.

There's words in there. If anybody figures out where to find the lyrics, please post a link. Would like to read them. All I could make out was "Killing all the flies." Surprisingly enough, but I had a cheat sheet for that one.
There is a link at the top of the page here to find song lyrics. Everytime I cook out I am all for killing all the flies, but take the gnats, too. Living here in south GA causes me to put gnats as the bigger pest. The sentiment of the title is one I feel OFTEN. Oh, the music's alright I guess. A 6 but with potential for a 7 or 8 with the right mood/setting.
I like that,I'd have to hear more before I bought a CD though. Another Scottish band of similar vintage worth checking out are The Cosmic Rough Riders.

Rock Action or Happy Songs are probably good starting points.
Nice wallpaper. Doesn't clash w/ the curtains or the sofa. Won't go out & buy it or see them live, but I won't turn it off if it's on.
I recently saw these guys live in Charlottesville, Virginia. It was really amazing—their music left me almost totally ambivalent. I didn't hate it; I didn't like it. It was just there.
great road music for driving into a storm!
Far out and groovy. I'm spacing.

Wow, I admit I don't know much about Sigur Ros (other than that I like most of what I've heard), but that's a pretty tall insult. Could you provide some detail as to why he merits such slings and arrows?
Well, I went to one of their concerts this year... Although setting the drummer on the right side instead of the center is pretty original, I couldn't help myself thinking it was mostly so that the leader would appear even more as a central point. Also, there was a pretty good backing keyboard/guitar player (I even found his guitar playing better that that of the leader), but he was set so far to the rear left, you really had to make an effort to see him play. Finally, playing the guitar with a bow is not new: Jimi Page did it almost 40 years ago... So I don't really like their presenting it as something unheard of. I can see not liking the music - it's not always very accessible. But that kind of vitriol I don't get. flaterik wrote:

As far as not so accessible music is concerned, my liking Mogwai should say it all...

All of them they are all brilliant and go and see them live (but don't talk in the quiet bits)

always excellent to hear, but RP needs some tracks from Mr Beast, asap. (not to mention Young Team, Rock Action, Come On Die Young, etc...)
I love this song...
why not "Haunted By A Freak" ?!?!? why this one ?!?!?!
i would die happy if i never heard this song again!
for all who love mogwai: they may like sigur ros, too. visit https://www.sigur-ros.co.uk/media/ eeeehm, 10.

Wow. Okay, he may be ego-centric. Or at least egotistical, based on what he's said about changing rock. But I went to their "fan-club-only" show at the Avalon in LA last year, and it was hands down the best concert I've ever witnessed. At I didn't listen to any of their stuff until hearing () during the drive to the concert. Admittedly I haven't been going to many concerts lately, but just... wow. I was particularly transfixed by the drumming in the later parts of the show, but it was all good. I can see not liking the music - it's not always very accessible. But that kind of vitriol I don't get. Also this mogwai track is great. I need to get some of their albums

Hehe! I was about the post the same question. Careful with the water now.
I like it A LOT! I am in just the right mood for it too.

Great track from an amazing and hypnotic album. One of my top 10 albums of 2003.
I guess all their albums are hypnotic. I remember once having put "Young Team" into the CD-ROM drive, and playing it with a full-screen visualizer (Cthugha), in a dark room. I spent almost an entire hour doing absolutely nothing behind that screen.
here it comes...boooom! ...and thas what mogwai does...they're so gnarly...i just signed up for rp today and what a great way to start out...i read other comments to see that this song was once preceeded by 'dear prudence'...my favourite beatles song of all time... Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!

I bought this album on Platy's recommendation via iTunes. It's great. I highly recommend it to any new Mogwai fans.
