KABOOM
Get it right
Get it right now
Get it right
Do it good
Get it right now
KABOOM
Get it right
Get it right now
Get it right
Do it good
Get it right now
Oh let's bomb the factory
That makes all the wannabes
Let's burst all the bubbles
That brainwash the masses
(Chorus)
As far as I can tell
It doesn't matter who you are
If you can believe there's something worth fighting for
The color of an eye
The glory of a sudden view
The baby in your arms
The smile he always shoots at you
Believing (believing) in nothing (in nothing)
Makes life (makes life) so boring (so boring)
So let's pray (so let's pray) for something (for something)
To feel good (to feel good) in the morning (in the morning)

KABOOM
Get it right
Get it right now
Get it right
Do it good
Get it right now
KABOOM
Get it right
Get it right now
Get it right
Do it good
Get it right now
Oh doctor we're dying
There's no use in crying
So live for tomorrow
And do what you have to
(Chorus)
So let's pray (so let's pray) for something (for something)
To feel good (to feel good) in the morning (in the morning)

The band name is what this is for me...
Shirley Manson talks about the return of Garbage and its new album

Shirley, or someone doing a very good PR imitation of Shirley, posts quite regularly to the Facebook page for Garbage. And she says they've got a new album out in May. Just FYI.
Great band. Anything but garbage.
I happen to think Shirley Manson is god. Sometimes. She was creepy-cool on "The Sara Connor Chronicles" as a terminator in a business suit. She did a seriously-passionate song called "Samson and Delilah," which had me wishing I could unlearn the Bible. And the whole Garbage thing was icing on the cake for me.
She's one of my heroes. Good to hear this song, and this band, on RP!

Never been a Garbage fan, but I like this one.

The production wasn't aimed at my taste, but I got thru it to enjoy that spot-on chorus. I was trying to guess
who it was thinking Garbage was too obvious, Metric maybe. Nope that really was Shirley some 16 years later.

I really miss Garbage these days. Even on the two latest, overall-disapointing albums, they had some stand-outs like this.
Nice segue Bill, There Must Be - Something Beautiful - (Beautiful Garbage() Parade.

In my mind I normally call something "overproduced" when the elements and sonic quality of the music stand out more than the music itself. The Beatles are an example of how something can be very produced but not draw attention to the production -IMHO.
You can only appreciate the sonic quality of "overproduced" on an outstanding stereo system playing from the original CD, not the terrific, but still compressed, RP version.

Yeah, nice upbeat stuff. Overproduced? Give me a break, what does that mean? The Beatles used tons of studio only effects on many of their classics, talking about overproduced. Its all about the artist, the final product. Get a life. Smile, enjoy.

I like Garbage for the most part, and I think "overproduced" is pretty much inherently a pejorative term. So I don't really agree with what you're saying.
I do however like wordplay. That was well done.
Actually it's more like calling water a collection of molecules, each formed of one Oxygen atom and two hyrdogen atoms. Water isn't always wet, after all.

Whoops, sorry, I thought I was entitled to an opinion. Especially as it's an accurate one. And you're right, it is about the final product. But if the final product is worse than it could be, because three (!) producers didn't know enough to know when to quit, I think that's a valid critique.
Also, if you scroll down to my original post, you'll note that I wasn't so much criticizing a song as contrasting this song with a White Stripes song that followed it. I'm sure you'll agree that the White Stripes are not overproduced. :-p

LOVE LOVE LOVE me some Garbage!!!!
A tasty album, by all measures. Better than Version 2.0, in my opinion.
Yeah, it is overproduced, but you can't help but bob along and rock out to this one.
Good to here some Garbage again!

...really it's not fair to expect any less, given that the band's composed of three producers plus a recruited vocalist...

you guys had me thinking she'd died in a carwreck or something.
but a couple wiki links later i see she's got a solo project due out next year. could be interesting.
Their sound has always been alittle too over-produced.
Is this Garbage at the height of their powers?
Veddy gute overall

Good shot(s) Shirl! Good one for you driver8 ... and me, love it!
not bad,but a little fluffy for my likeing
Shirley hot? naw..the producers were the hotties!
(yes, that was a joke)
but regardless, I like their stuff too, Vers.2.0 is probably the best one still, good good stuff on that one
Harmless
I have always liked the sound of Garbage, but never could stand their lyrics, this song's lyrics are thankfully harder to hear than usual, but still annoying.
People who say Garbage is overproduced... I just don't get it... that's their thing. It's the layers and layers of production that makes their music compelling, in my opinion. I like this song... LOVE Version 2.0 album.

Me too. She was super sexy hot and pervy.
And Garbage was a great band too.

Garbage is ometimes great, sometimes not so great, but always, always overproduced. Always. Sounds very strange coming after The White Stripes.
What do you expect from a band that's 3/4 producers :P
I was mostly dissapointed in this album, but this is one of the 3 or so standout tracks.
Yea! for Garbage! Overproduced or not. Been a fan since the 1st album. Mmmm...Shirley.
This is one of my faves off this album, many people didn't like it this album, but I loved it as much as the first two. Lyrically it's sometimes weak, and agreed they're always overproduced. But still very enjoyable for me, good road trip CDs, and the overproduction works very well very loud!
As always, kudos to RP - always eclectic, consistently the best.
Apt name. Overproduced? To say the least.

No. I mean, HELL NO! This is excellent stuff. Nice evolution of the band.
But I LIKE the new stuff...is that so wrong?
I mean, I like this too. I like all kinds of Garbage.
Not the best garbage... But anything off their first 2 albums rocks - Please play more garbage!
in my opinion unfortunatelly the last great song from garbage.
the new record isn't worth to have it.
hope they will be back one day with the power from their 1 & 2 record
Great song.
Great message.
More Garbage, please!!
I've had "Parade" in my collection for a long time now... this is one of the best songs they've ever done. I love the music and the overall meaning. A 10.
