Got a box full of letters,
Think you might like to read
Some things that you might like to see,
But they're all addressed to me
Wish I had a lotta answers,
'Cause that's the way it should be
For all these questions,
Being directed at me
I just can't find the time
To write my mind
The way I want it to read
You'll come back again
And I'll still be your friend
I got a lot of your records,
In a separate stack
Some things that I might like to hear,
But I guess I'll give 'em back
I wish I had a lotta answers,
'Cause that's the way it should be
All these questions
Being directed at me
Just can't find the time
To write my mind
The way I want it to read
You'll come back again,
And I'll still be your friend
I can't find the time

On this particular song, the style/sound reminds me of The Clarks, a great band from the Pittsburgh area.

Nice song. Sounds like The Replacements.

It goes toe to toe with the strong disc of Being There, and much better than the weak disc of Being There.
The best Wilco album IMHO. Kinda wore it out back in the day, but it never gets old for me.

Need to hear this again - definite feeling of some Teenage Fanclub in there somewhere. Giving it a 7 for now - might go to an 8 when I hear it again

Yeah. Their stuff was pretty likable as a whole for about the first 9 years of their recordings (for me, anyway). But I just find myself indifferent to what's been going on since then. That said, each later album seems to have at least one killer tune.
I love this album and this version of Wilco.

Cool tune. The production reminds me of Big Star's sound - especially the crunchy guitar sound.

I love most all of the alt-country music, although SonVolt is my very favorite.

What a dumb-ass song
Ah....a good, old midwestern RnR band from the Illinois side in the STL region; on the Mississippi River.
Songs about love, sex, hope, dreams, forlorn, etc. And driving those back roads in and around Belleville, IL (the home of Wilco).

Holy shit. A song with Tweedy (I presume) that rocks and thumps. Nice. Too short.

this one never gets old for me.
just saw the boys at the capitol theatre in port chester ny last month. they tore the sheet outta this number. aw yeah

Excellent work. I saw them LIVE in upstate NY just before the release of Being There (1996) and they played a number of tunes from A.M. I hear that Jeff Tweedy does not really enjoy playing Box Full of Letters any more. Too bad. It is a great tune...probably a bit too commercial for his taste, however. 9/10 for me.
Great song live...... Def a jam out!
does have a few Cracker crumbs in it...
This is a fantastic album.
Love, sex, hope, and dreams...coming from the remants of Uncle Tupelo....coming from the rust belt city of Belleville, IL.
Long live Stag beer!

first wilco song i ever heard back in 1995. love it. my favorite.
There are few exceptions where I am able to get past an immature voice.
This is not one of those exceptions.

Saw them this summer and they played a number of tunes off of AM...great show, great band live...Nels Cline is unbelievable, and the perfect combo to Jeff...best show of the summer for me!

Glad to see this was recorded in 1995, when a "box full of letters" might have still been a possibility.
One of their best albums...if not THE best...in my humble opinion

"Last Played: Never" It should be illegal not to play this great tune loud and often! Come on Bill!

Wilco? I thought this was Cracker!
Thanks SO MUCH for all the "new" music this week, Bill! This rocks!

Please play this more than once per year.
Wilco. Like Old 97's, just not quite as good.

"Last time played- Never"
??
This was the first song I heard from Wilco and got me started on them- why not include it in the rotation a couple times?
