I've been lost and now found my way
Take me down and safe
Show me the way
Take me places that I want to stay
Here's to today
Here's to today
I've been knocked but now I'm on my feet
Call or light up whenever I get in this deep
Take me places that I know from sleep
Let me sleep
Let me sleep
Head out
Fade out
Keep the light on
Turn it up
Head out
Fall down now
Keep the light on
Turn it up
I don't, cannot live with things you say
Guys don't want you to let it go anyway
Wake me tenderly and leave me to lay
Let me sleep
Let me sleep
Head out
Fade out
Keep the light on
Turn it up
Head out
Fall down now
Keep the light on
Turn it up

I think you will find that Gomez took a chicken and trained it to sound like a guitar.
Probably; it was the Kentucky Fried Movie, after all.

Imagine having just rode your bicycle down the mountain, through the dell and over the hill. This is victory music to my ears! Dank you bery much!!
When scanning comments I sometimes wonder how someone can possibly rate a particular song a "sucko-barfo" and other times I am in complete amazement at a song that receives a "godlike" rating....

I can't be the only listener who finds this singer's voice and styling to be exceedingly irritating, can I? I have not scanned the comments, but this is unpleasant to my ears!

I like the way the make a guitar sound like a chicken.

I like the way they make a guitar (or something else?) sound like a chicken.

Best Gomez singer. (I thought it was Eddie Vedder when I heard Gomez for the first time.)

Great band live. So dynamic, energetic and just plain loud. This is my favorite album of theirs.

Ah, you too were kicked in the head...with iron boot? Of course so, there's actually two ZAZ references, Rex Kramer - Danger Seeker! (KF Movie) and Rex Kramer "flying a plane is no different from riding a bicycle, just alot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes." (Airplane!)
Prickelpit96, that was probably the best reference in the history of Radio Paradise, but some of us here, particularly me would like to buy you a drink and shake your hand...
You're my people ;-)

Gomez has been my very best Radio Paradise discovery! We'd have never heard them on commercial radio in Lost Angeles. (but then again, I haven't listened to commercial radio in LA in years!)
Bring ear protedtion to Gomez shows, trust me.
It's good though...
I love this band! They slip in little surprises for us.
There was a ping at the end, suggesting a fade-in segue to Pink Floyd's Echoes (the abridged version, please).
THE BEST GOMEZ ALBUM . . . SO FAR!
Awwwwsome
"This man needs to be taken to a hospital!"
"A hospital...what is it?"
"A big building with doctors and patients in, but that's not important right now"
They also have a song called Steve McCroski!
Fantastic band, although they seem to have lost their way after this album in my opinion...
I saw that and had to go steal nj67's post from a song thread on some Of Montreal song:

Or in December, they go from Robert Palmer (did Gomez listen to him?), to Dizzy Gillespie, to this Gomez cut.
Nice!
Whoa..and now comes Green Onions !
And again. Or is it déjà vú ?
Forget it. Just listen. It's Green Onions time again
A deep, soulful groove.
I've been trying to like Gomez... but this doesn't help.
i cannot get enough of this song!!!!
Ah--Ah--Ah'm not your steppin' stone...

Nice connection.
Ahh, yes, early Zuckers...
"Catholic High School Girls In Trouble!"

I saw them play this summer and was taken with how much fun they were having. They really love what they do...also it's hilarious to listen to that big, gravelly voice come out of a skinny white boy :)
I thought this was an outtake from Tim Buckley circa "Greetings from LA".

Going to see them in Greenville, SC in about a month. Can't wait.
most excellent song, most excellent album. great stuff!
I have absoloutely, positively NO clue what the heck ya'll are talking about here, but I had a fabulous time trying to figure it out! So witty, so obscure, I adore these kinds of comments. So much more intriguing than head banging into the wall and mud slinging. And I love this song as well. The day is brightening already!

Try bringing up the volume to about an 11 on this song and then read your comments again. If it hasn't done something to you by then, consider yourself dead inside.

RP seems to love Gomez. Can\'t for the life of me figure what the attraction is. Extraordinarily ordinary.
I appreciate Gomez more and more each day.
Beautiful song.
