on a beach twenty yards from the roadside
back again 6 AM far from sleep
must be 290 blue on the water
it's gray to me 3 CV is all I see
green can only hold you in the garden
too much red will go right to your head
but if it's all the same to you
give me back my blue
other colors fade anyway
i'm colorblind three way tragedy
pantone memory grayscale eyes
maybe i'm paranoid yeah that's my problem
you almost have to be when you look like me
stopped in the shade of a road sign
when the sun rose like a bomb
tried to read the simple writing
but the letters came out wrong
it's all white lines to me
but things are getting clearer
i can almost read the writing in the mirror
i'm colorblind three way tragedy

but if it's all the same to you
give me back my blue
other colors fade anyway
i'm colorblind freeway tragedy
pantone memory x-ray eyes
where'd all the color go on my radio?
you almost have to be a satellite to see.

Always enjoy hearing this one... takes me back to the old days of Radio Paradise.
A very good and original song. Thanks RP.

I really like Kevin Moore's projects, the 3 Chroma Key albums are very good, and better yet his band OSI is one of my all time top favorite bands of the last 14 years.

Buen Rock Progresivo. Demasiado comercial, no obstante. Los ritmos, la voz, los arreglos muy buenos. La composición casi tanto. Muy parecido a RPWL
I thought initially this was Porcupine Trees, what a very cool song and a band I have to check out !
Fun fact: 290 blue and 3CV are Pantone colors. Pantone 290 is a light blue / sky blue, while Pantone 3Cv is known as Cool Gray 3.

Let's play 3 degrees of Steven Wilson!
Prior song was Porcupine Tree (with SW of course), and Chroma Key is Kevin Moore, who is also in OSI, which Steven Wilson has guest appeared and co-wrote the song Shut Down.
Or, Steven Wilson was in PT with Gavin Harrison, and Gavin Harrison was the drummer for OSI's last 2 albums.

Gotta guess he worked in print/prepress/graphic design with this one. Really like this and his other work, beginning with DT.
New to this sound, but love it, & appreciate the personnel background comments. Super interesting, evocative track. Thanks RP!
Recorded 21 years ago. Portents of things to come...prog band-wise that is.

Ditto to the above I think we can apply the Kevin Bacon game to Steve Wilson and RP song lists. In this case, Steve Wilson guest appeared on OSI's debut album for the song "Shut Down", and Chroma Key is Kevin Moore, half of OSI.
I really like his Chroma Key work, but remain a HUGE fan of his OSI project. If you are a fan of Porcupine Tree and Chroma Key, this group should be on your list (as well as Anathema).

From the wiki page:
Despite frequent characterisations of "progressive rock", the music has little in common with it stylistically, and is especially different from Moore's work with Dream Theater, with the exception of "Space-Dye Vest" from their Awake album.
So what is it, techno, psychedelic dance?

I never would have gotten past the tune to listen to them (as in the tune didn't really get my attention).
Back in 2002ish when I was just starting to get into Porcupine Tree, I heard this song on RP, and I was really impressed. Then a friend gave me his OSI CD to listen to....imagine my surprise to find out half of OSI is this guy, and that Porcupine Tree's Steve Wilson guest appears on the OSI CD. Cool how I discovered all these bands separately, but came to find that they are all related.

I'm at work with the headphones on and I look over to see who this is and notice the name "Chroma Key". Well DANG if I'm not adjusting the chroma key on my desktop composite at that very minute! COSMIC..........
hah, I had already commented this. :P Still a good song.
oh we are experimental today...
This is genious. Also listen to "Even the waves" it's about the mysterious numbers people listening to radiobands and static noise sometimes hear.
For those of you who watch the series LOST on ABC (or whatever channel in your country. In norway it's TVNorge): The song "Even the Waves" tells ALOT of season 1 of Lost.
Here's the lyrics (be suprised!)
Also, the album (1998) is called "Dead Air For Radios":
"
Me & judas lost at sea
Under electric twilight fading
I look at him he sees through me
40 days and we're still waiting
I'm not tired but i think i'll lay back anyway
I'm not welcome but i think i'll stay
Me & jonas lost at sea
Deep inside a dream we're trailing
Heard him whisper wait for me
Sun goes down and we're still sailing
I'm not nervous but i think i'll lay back anyway
I'm not helpless but i think i'll stay
And even the waves won't carry me away
Keep heading west that's the best
May be lost but i'm not crazy
Stay where you are not too far
Keep it up you're doing fine
Well i thought i was fine
Me & joseph lost at sea
Under rain and slowly waking
He looks around and smiles at me
41 and we're still waiting
I'm not tired but i think i'll lay back anyway
I'm not hopeless but i think i'll stay
And even the waves won't carry me away"
This song? 9/10 no doubt.
reminds me of Orgy

well... it's definitely better than Dream Theater.
