If you leave us for later
Break off from everyday
Spend a week in the moment
Take the train to Marrakesh

Just when you would change your focus
We get our own ideas
Go cut down some things you wouldn't
Hope you don't end up alone

Everything you think are we are
We're come to mesmerize
Everything you fear we are we will be

The time is gonna come
The time is gonna come

We got our own ideas

I like SPOON.

You should try The Spoons!
Look them up, if you don't know.

Eeek gads! If my math is correct, you realize that's 208+ days of listening if you listened 24 hours a day.  That's a lot of spoon!!

I am really enjoying this new album, but my query is with the production values.  Every track sounds crusty, with distortion everywhere.  It just makes my car system (which is where I enjoy most of my music these days) sound like the speakers are duff.  Nothing clean about it, which spoils my enjoyment.  Clean it up and it would be my new favourite album.

Or maybe they meant to do that. I think this song is absolute mind-candy and I love that there are challenging artists like this.

Trying to decide which is my favorite Spoon album. Between this, They Want My Soul and their last Lucifer on the Sofa, it's a tough decision. One thing for certain, I love them all!

Must buy IMHO - one of their top 2 albums.

Really Spoon - how long did it take you to come up with these?

Or is it just me?

Not just you. Everybody can reflect on the ambiguity. I, for one, remain unoffended by word play.

Reminded of a line from The Airplane’s Volunteers:
We are forces of chaos and anarchy Everything you say we are, we are.
And we’re very proud of ourselves
A flashback, I suppose

Definitely hearing the backwards vocal.  Wondering about it being the same phrase.
But I can't be certain.     Anybody know?

This has nothing to do with this song but with the comment Bill just made about the Camp Fire and Paradise CA. I am so proud of all of the RP listener that have donated. Just go to the link and see how many have noted that their donations are a result of Radio Paradise. It warms my heart to be a part of this caring family.

Regarding the volume control, I can't get it to slide but if I left click on the slide bar the cursor jumps to the arrow position.

With the new HTML interface, I can't move the volume control anymore.

Anyone else seeing this too?!

The music is really cool. Why not just listen?

Edit: In any case, Prince was one of Spoon's inspirations on this album, the "Dirty Mind" album in particular. Hence, the "Hot Thoughts" tune and album title.

Just saw them live at Forecastle, sounded great! Much better songs on that album, in fact this is one of the worst, Bill needs to get Can I Sit Next to You and I Ain't the One in circulation. First Caress is also good.
