You're a very pretty girl
you ought to know better than to lie to me
you're a very pretty girl
you're making it harder than it ought to be
but it's better that you tell me now
than to lead me on somehow
Cause it just break my heart
yeah just break my heart

you don't care what you say
you don't care what you do
you're a very pretty girl

you're a very pretty girl
I'll do anything you want me to
you're a very pretty girl
baby what you put me through
the thing you just don't see
when your lying to me
is your breaking my heart
yeah breakin' my heart

last night you told me you were mine
tonight you say you changed your mind
Don't care what you say
Don't care what you do

you're a very pretty girl
I'Yeah m giving more love than your taking away
I'm giving more love than your takin away
yeah I said I'm givin more love than your taking away
I'm givin givin givin
Take it baby

you're a very pretty girl
you're hypnotizing put me
in your trance
now you got me
I don't stand a chance
the thing that is bringing me down
think you're playin' around
well it just breaks my heart
just breaks my heart

don't care what you do
don't care what you say
You're a very pretty girl
You're a very pretty girl
Oh You're a very pretty girl

I miss his original guitarist.

Kept hearing "you so pred-tee" in my head:

Otherwise, profoundly 'meh' to me...

Jeez, calm down. He clearly doesn't like Isaak, and he might have expressed it a little immaturely, but that was a pretty typical expression - it's not like he'd actually punch Chris in the face. Calling him an idiot is just as offensive/inappropriate.

Actually it was not a typical expression, it was so atypical that it deserved to be singled out and criticized. Threatening physical violence against someone (even when said in jest) is not something that should be taken lightly. In some cases, threats like that, would be followed up by a visit from the police. Please remember to switch your brain on before making a comment. I make that recommendation based on the many comments I have made with the brain switch set to the off position. {#Wink}

It's the way we talk nowadays.  We say things like "punch back twice as hard", "if the other guy brings a knife to the fight, we bring a gun", "keep our boot on the neck of BP", etc.  You get the gist.
This guitarist is amazing!!
date rape foreshadowing.

This has no depth whatsoever.

I'm not a big fan, but Chris Isaak is far from "finished".  He has a pretty large, loyal following.  He may not make "hit records", but that is not the only definition of success.

...i often sing this song to my kitty at home...

Not when you're using it as a descriptive quality to explain the way someone acts. I didn't call anyone a douche bag, I just said Chris Isaak acts like a douche bag, which he does - he may or may not be one. This other dude called this guy an idiot... pretty harshly blunt... it's all about intent. And in no offense to women, or women hygiene products.... but douche bag has come to mean a certain type of guy in slang, clearly.

Is that the riff from the Cars "Dangerous Type" in the background? {#Ask}

I don't like Isaak either. He acts like a douche bag and his TV show was beyond terrible.

Does anyone else feel that Chris Isaak comes off pretty creepy in most of his songs?  A girl I know says she went with friends to a concert of his, and she said it felt distinctly "like he was trying to have sex with the women in the audience through his singing."
I believe her next word was "Ick" accompanied by a disgusted face.
Window - why rely on the friends of a girl you know? Go see for yourself. You might like it, creepy or otherwise. He delivers an experience, any way you weigh it.

I agree. The sound of this song makes me sick.

the name should be "Pedophiles' love"... don;t overreact now, just listen carefully again. :)

Isn't this what brought Elvis so much attention, accolades & thrust Rock n Roll into the limelight?

Don't forget he's also a comedian.  Plus the music sounds good.

Yes, the only memorable thing was the model, Helena Christensen.
I don't at the moment recall who plays guitar on this track but it sure is wonderfully expressive work!

i like this its a sexy song! you play this who knows what will happen!{#Kiss}{#Heartkiss}

Now I'm no Chris Isaak fan...however as he's a former boxer (hence the nose) your assault fantasy might just backfire a little.

Oh definitely. I'm not listening to RP right now though, I've  just had  that song and riff stuck in my head for decades.

 I wake up and "Bang a Gong" is  playing in my head. Go eat breakfast—-"Bang a Gong" playing in my head still.Work- same shit.

  Sometimes it stops, but usually only after a severe manic episode which I shake of through a variety of self medication and healing practices.

 Then it starts again.

 Worst  thing to happen to me since " Achy Breaky Heart"

 Well, it was actually before, but I'm getting distracted by the groove.

 Hub cap diamond  star halo? Like I'll be able to sleep tonight trying to figure that line out.

   OK- I've got to go pitch a Wang  Dang Doodle tonight too, so  I'm off.

 Ya think?.

Can you please tell me how your cure works so I can get "Yippee Ki-Yay, Mini Sirloin Burgers" out of my head?  Oh crap, I just put it in yours.......

fun smoldering stuff here, haven't heard before and i like it.
Saw Chris Isaak in a July concert. Fun Fun Fun!  What a voice and entertainer. Nearly blinded us with his mirror suit.

Maybe he thinks if he uses that line often enough he'll get lucky sooner or later.

This song is dead to me.

Soliciting listener support for Bill to play Allman Brothers "Blue Sky".  Never played on RP, but has a 9.4 on 18 ratings.  How about it, Bill?
I'm sick of this side of Mr. Isaak. I've heard this "sound" for years. Let's do something new instead of rehashing old styles....{#Snooty}
ok I am officially sick of this song now.  Never liked it much, but dealt with it.  Now it's time to hit the mute for a few min... Sorry Bill.
This song is too repetitive.  How many times does he say "You're a very pretty girl"? I wish he would describe how pretty she is a different way than just repeating it a gazillion times. Just my two cents.
My wife and I just saw Chris at the Ryman in Nashville a few weeks ago.  It was one of the best concerts/performances I have ever seen.  He and his band were amazing.  He has a great stage presence and his voice is great live, I cannot say enough about how awesome the show was.  If you have the chance, I would recommend seeing Chris Isaak in concert - you won't regret it.
Is he channeling Roy Orbison?  {#Ask} This dude has great voice.

a bit bland and repetitive, IMHO.
Ok with me....

I miss his TV show

I love this song and CD....going to see Chris Isaak in July!...can't wait

Hope he never finds a happy relationship or we'll have no more good songs ... smoldering and sleazy ... gotta love it! {#Dancingbanana_2}

I second that: HAHAHAHAHAHAHA  {#Lol}

Yes, nice {#Guitarist}  I like the drumming too!{#Drummer} #8

I think this is as good as anything he's done in the past.....sorry naysayers.
Ouch...before looking at who it was, I thought to myself "Hey, it's a cheap immitation of Chris Isaak"...oops...{#Shifty}
Has anyone seen his new TV show on A&E/Bio?

Sorry, but this takes a back seat, turd-muffin to his earlier stuff.  I saw Chris in Minneapolis ca. 2002.  I was sitting waaay back in the upper bleachers.  The lights went out, Chris disappears from the stage.... And re-appears upper balcony right next to me and shakes my hand.  Thanks, Chris, for my 2 seconds of blinding spotlight.  Incidentally, this was a superb concert overall, not just because I made physical contact with the main attraction.  Go back to the San Francisco Days stuff, Chris..  Much better groove-fluff....

not such a deep groove I guess (compared to earlier stuff) but it is still quite cool I think

i like this....i'm gonna get it
music is art,, it all does not have to blow your skirt up, but I like to wear my skirt over my head when listening to music
this has really grown on me (just went to 8)
OMG please, "99.9%"? Thats just laughable. Dude probably gets some trim, and some of it prime, but no way is he having a sex life THAT interesting, especially if you listen to his lame ass, sad-sack songs.

Me likey the new voice.{#Surprised}
that was nice - different from the usual Isaak (not that the usual Isaak is BAD)

7 ==> 8
hmmm interesting song, but annoyingly repetetive

yeah i bet he gets ass like a toilet seat in a rest stop (quantity-wise anyway.. not that the rest-stop ass is good ass...)

He definitely has a signature sound but his range is pretty impressive!

I miss hearing his shatteringly pretty falsetto front and center. Wonder if it's left town for good.
