Well there's a light in your eye that keeps shining,
Like a star that can't wait for night.
I hate to think I been blinded baby.
Why can't I see you tonight?
An' the warmth of your smile starts a burning
An' the thrill of your touch give me fright
And I'm shaking so much, really yearning.
Why don't you show up and make it alright-yeah?
It's alright-right.
And if you promised you'd love so completely
An' you said you would always be true,
You swore that you never would leave me baby,
Whatever happened to you?
An' you thought it was only in movies
As you wish all your dreams would come true, hey.
It ain't the first time believe me baby,
I'm standing here feeling blue, blue ha!.
Yes I'm blue.
Oh babe.
Now I will stand in the rain on the corner,
I watch the people go shuffling downtown.
Another ten minutes no longer
An' then I'm turning around 'round.
An' the clock on the wall's moving slower,
Oh my heart it sinks to the ground
An' the storm that I thought would blow over
Clouds the light of the love that I found, found.
Light of the love that I found.
Light of the love that I found.
Oh that I found.
Hey babe.
Oh hand that ticks on the clock
Just don't seem to stop
When I'm thinking it over.
Oh tired of the light,
I just don't seem to find.
Have you wait, yeah played.
Whoa oh I see it in my dreams
But I just don't seem to be with you, you
I gotta get it all, gotta get it all, gotta get it all,
I've got to get all.
Ooh now my body is starting to quiver
An' the palms of my hands getting wet oh.
I got no reason to doubt you baby,
It's all a terrible mess.
An' I'll run in the rain till I'm breathless,
When I'm breathless I'll run till I drop, hey!
An' the thoughts of a fool's gotta count,
I'm just a fool waiting on the wrong block oh-yeah.
Hey now. Oh oh oh.
Light of the love that I found.
Light of the love that I found.
Light of the love that I
Light of the love that I found.
Light of the hey now. Light of the hey now.
Light of the love that I found.
Light of the love that I found.
Bill, thank you for your observation on the 8yo girl doing a more than credible John Bonham cover of Good Times Bad Times. I have studied it in depth with my rhythm section partner. The triplets alone with the kick pedal she can barely reach are worthy of awe from such a young girl. If her joy in nailing it doesn't make you smile call 911.

Thanks for the link.
That chick has future in ROCK!
My last trip to Recycle Records in Bend Oregon (now sadly gone) I found a brand new in wrapper ITTOD vinyl, with pristine water color sleeve. Score!
Right now, planning a motorcycle trip to Bend next year. Alas, too late for this shop.
Here's a youtube video with the isolated drum track from this song... seriously breathtaking.

wow! thank you for this!
it was nice not hearing this for 40 years
this brings back the pain of its overplay at that time
Agreed. Not innovative, not then and not now.

Jimmy Page was REALLY high on this album !
Thoght that was par for the course with jimmy:)
Bonzo makes this song work. You have 2 different time signatures on the guitar parts and the drums pull them together.
Yeah the drumming here is unreal. Knowing drumming like this is possible makes it hard for me to listen to any song with just a rhythm track: it's like cooking with no spice at all - not even salt. On the other hand this song really lights up my rhythm taste buds.

I know people aren't real high on this album, but this really is one of the best songs ever. Who doesn't want to sing along?
Jimmy Page was REALLY high on this album !
Mine too!
I'm sure there are hardcore LZ fans out there that prefer other tunes, but this one is my favorite.
I'm pretty sure too ;)

RP could throw out some trash....
And in it's place play more Zeppelin!
Yeah, I could without hearing Sade on RP.
Easy-listening music is not easy to listen to for me.
Back to the days of vinyl records.........
I seem to remember that there was multiple covers hidden by a plain brown wrapper.
You didn't know which cover you had until you opened the album.
(Just to frustrate collectors, it seemed that most stores only had one type.)
I think the pictures were all the same room and same central figure, just shots from different parts of the room.
Not sure the CD followed that.
I used to enjoy the big covers of records.
There were 6 different covers, and the images are taken from the perspective of each of the people on the periphery of the room.
Cool page showing the different covers.
To me it always sounded like they were already on a path to breakup with this last album, it already sounds a lot like subsequent plant solo albums and a lot less like previous zeppelin albums.
My take is that they were facing the 80's and trying to adapt. Not many bands pulled it off
I recall buying the record in 1979 because it was LZ, not being enthused after playing it, then the drummer died, and that was it.
I appreciate it far more now.
Mighty Led Zeppelin, baby.
Then go listen to iHeartRadio then
They said its fresh and cool :)
Good for my old soul.
So there may be hope yet!
Talk about some awesome lyrics.......
have you heard Dylans "one more cup of coffee"? or even "Season of the witch" by Donovan?
What a tie in! Robert Plant has an incredible version of "One More Cup of Coffee" on his 2002 album Dreamland. He also covered Season of the Witch with his band Priory of Brion in the late 90's.

"Too much Led Zeppelin..." - I don't understand the sentence, care to elaborate?

"Why don't you shower and make it all right?"
Mine was, "not all the love that I found."

Neither is "good" IMO, but yet both far better than this drivel. This is but one example of crap from Zep.
I'd personally rate this quite possibly the most over-rated rock band in history. And I was there to witness it. Live and in laser beamed color.
Couple of epic good albums, then a long line of crapola. By the end of the third one, I was weary of Plant's noise.
Couldn't even see the light and originally skipped out on "Street corner girl" as being unworthy of making it onto the album ! ?
I rest my case.
I'd personally rate you as having what therapists call an unhealthy obsession with the band Led Zeppelin. Breathe deep. Relax. They're not coming for you.
Yea, still not my fave Zep tune, though. Not as bad as All of My Love, quite possibly their worst IMHO.
Yes and yes. Just a matter of time.

The inner sleeve, that appeared as a black and white image, contained hidden watercolors and could be "painted" with a wet brush. Ala the color smear on the album cover.
Fool (not in the rain) such as I thought that I must flush the paper cover with the tap water. So I had a wet LP cover for a while. Vinyl is in a quite good condition still. Played it again some month ago.
Wow. Not my favourite of theirs, but a nice little tune.

Definitely not Zep's best, but I'm sticking with "We Built This City" by Starship, or maybe "Muskrat Love", or "Stay Awhile", or, anything by Rush. ; )

I don't see why CD's can't be supplied in the big fanfold jobs we used to relish. Photos, lyrics and so on. A major part of the experience for me, now sadly missing.
It would be a good thing to master. One of my favorites just for the drumming alone.

This song has nothing to do with lz
hahaha. Thought this was some iffy Plant solo project myself. Never heard it before so was very surprised to find Led Zep had gone MOR.
i'm with you.
This has to be one of the most charming comments on the board. Cheers!
This song has nothing to do with lz
Other than being BY Led Zeppelin.
This song is soooo good for the ears...

Nope. The music itself is fine. Plant's vocals on this song make me want to punch myself in the balls.
Hope that's not an automatic reaction when you don't like something. Go to the PSD instead. You'll thank me for the tip. I am still cringing thinking about punch myself in that manner.
edit: (as seen in the song following this tonight Gorillaz — Demon Days which only gets a 6.5 or so. I rate both at a solid 8)
Too much John Paul Jone's influence for you?

The one Zep album not in my collection, nor shall it ever be.
In the Evening!
COME ON..... your missing out
He was stating opinions, not asserting that any of them were facts. Being tired of hearing Led Zeppelin after all these years does not disqualify someone from being "cut out for this whole Rock and Roll thing". I believe there are more choices than just Led Zeppelin and Lawrence Welk - at least there are in my universe. This song's pretty good - even today.
I disagree. It would have been interesting to see where Zep went had Bonzo lived.
yeah, i noticed that. ouch is right. and i agree with you.
i love love love this song, and i think the whole album is underrated.
The one Zep album not in my collection, nor shall it ever be.
yes, this has to be one of their worst - just can't figure out why it gets any airplay at all.
I disagree. It would have been interesting to see where Zep went had Bonzo lived.
S, it's so funny, I was just thinking that I sort of like this!
I have never heard this claim before today. Every Zep fan I ever knew associates this album with the anticipated tour, and then with grief and mourning. Seemed like days between the deaths of John Bonham, John Lennon, and Bob Marley.
Exactly right.
I know I am in the minority, but I love this song and this album and I don't think it was Zepps worst album at all.
Add one to the minority counter
