Come ride with me
Through the veins of history
I'll show you how God
Falls asleep on the job

And how can we win
When fools can be kings?
Don't waste your time
Or time will, waste, you...

No one's gonna take me alive
The time has come to make things right
You and I must fight for our rights
You and I must fight to survive

No one's gonna take me alive
The time has come to make things right
You and I must fight for our rights
You and I must fight to survive

No one's gonna take me alive
The time has come to make things right
You and I must fight for our rights
You and I must fight to survive

This song gives respect and derivation from Queen's Flash Gordon soundtrack. I initially thought it was a lost track from that album!
Porcupine Tree Trains into Muse's Knights of Cydonia. RP is rocking tonight!

Yes... And note that that was very similar to The Sweet's "Medusa" before it; Bellamy's vocals are often a dead-ringer for Brian Connolly back in the day!

This tune reminds me of a tune by Kai Winding from 1962 or '63. I can't remember the name of the tune (might have been "More"). It got a lot of radio airplay, even on the rock & roll AM Top10/Top40 radio stations.

While I still hear that, now I hear a mix of  "Ghost Riders in The Sky"  mixed in.
Muse songs often strike me as done in similar style as used to great effect by the old glam rock group, Sweet (such as in their song "Medusa")... Jamming riffs and hooks, sci-fi lyrics sung and harmonized in HIGH range
If Pink Floyd and Metallica had a child, it would be Muse. There are few bands saving rock and roll. Muse is one of them.

Cool. At least NOT the "Skip Button".  LOL!   Thanx RP!

I once liked these guys.  I'm going to downgrade the muse to a lower house of Queen.

Not sure where to place it in the mix, but having seen it's mention in the notes I gotta play Telstar now.  In a month I wore out the 45 on my suitcase record player.  I'm trying to remember what was on the flip side.   I see BOC coming up.  After that slide towards the past looks a good place to slip it in.

Great Saturday morning wake-up mix today.  Thanks, I needed the music energy to get going.

Ha!  Even Elvis Costello is pushing me to play that old 45.

I owe RP a donation just for introducing me to this album. It's like a fine jambalaya of ELO, The Darkness, Orgy, Queens of the Stone Age, U2, and God knows what else.

Excellent tune!
One of my all-time favourite CDs to play in the car, preferably loud enough it gets the rearview mirror vibrating.
Is this the band that had the hit with Final Countdown?

Weird, I get 3 letters into my address and my last 4 Samsung phones have autosuggested both my email addresses.

ghost riders in the sky
Seen them 3 times in Singapore and each time they up the ante. Awesome live band even if you are not a big fan of their music.
Best Muse track ever!
Muse are one of those bands where I cannot decide if I hate them for how over-the-top they are, or if I love them for how over-the-top they are......

most definitely one of the more annoying Modern Problems out there, though my latest phone (Lineage degoogled andriod) is the only one I got that does that.
Muse were planning a series of evening concerts in North Wales. Sadly 'The Nights in Snowdonia' tour never came to be. ;)
Very good vibes
Cant't stand it.
The intro to this song always reminds me of the Pixies instrumental tracks...  but not once the vocals kick in, or the later 70's inspired guitar riffs later in the tune.
21 plays per month in the Rock Mix?

Impressive.
love the full-on dripping drama...

Looking forward to hearing your efforts instead.... Overblown nonsense. Wannabe prog without the creative spark and talent to pull it off. Posted 4 months ago by Enness from UK

Gotta love these guys for what they are. Although their pretentiousness knows no bounds, it's not supposed to. That's the point.

Written and produced by Joe Meek. I've got a couple compilation CD's of his work.

Love the bass line on this song.
No soup for Muse!

Right.

You call it "pretentious" because it's TRYING to be pretentious.  That's the whole point.  Embrace TF outta it.

It's Telstar revisited! Cool
Bill, you nailed it 100% with your remark, "a band that's not afraid to go over the top, but still a lot of fun to listen to." I love 'em for that!

"Pretentious" is one of the most overused and ridiculous criticisms on these boards.
Those who use the term think they are soooooo much smarter than everyone else when, in fact, they are just being... you guessed it.

Matt Bellamy's dad was on guitar ...
"Showbiz" and "Origin of Symmetry" are the REAL Muse works, if you ask me.
It all went downhill from there...
Still this is a very very decent song from these peculiar rockers - Gave this an 8.
Peace

This really is quite grim
I used to love and adore this track and the whole album. I still kind of like it, but despise Muse and their blatant stealing of motifs, riffs and all kinds of stuff from various bands. They are one mediocre band with good production.
I have loved this sing since the fist time i heard it, like ten years ago! Reminds about the song Journey to the stars, whith the old surfrockers The Ventures.

Head banging prog rock. It's good that weed is legal in some parts of U.S., because it takes some of that New Maui Wowie to think of this as Queen Part 2.
Reminds me of Spinal Tap.

Too much prog rock?  DAMNED RIGHT!

For those who like down tempo ambient style rock, the rest of the album by Focus was pretty decent.  Makes me think of Camel.

I am not sure that Camel is for RP but you can hear the Genesis, King Crimson, Moody Blues influence and you can hear melodies and riffs that will remind you of Porcupine Tree.  Steven Wilson is a big fan.

As for this pretentious garbage Muse song, I kinda like it.
Ghostriders in the Queen.
genuinely annoying

HUGE!
fun
So boring and getting worse each time it is played - time to retire this track RP.
Within the context of RP, yes.  Individually, no.
Ugh, I can't take this band, the worst.
Bellamy allways ends up whining like a spoiled brat, hate his singing and the music does me nothing. Sorry for all the progrockers on RP!
get on with it then , ....go{#Stop}

hahaha, 'waaaaaah this song is whiny! this band is whiny! i don't like the whinies! waaaaah!'

oh well. i love this song; inspires visions of doing adventurous things at great speed. i recall listening to it often while doing geologic work in alaska, using helicopters and such. glorious days! such an excellent album too.
YIKES!

Terrible noise, melodramatic... hate this... hit the PSD button...
...not for me.
drama queens...
Nothing like starting a Friday morning with some Muse und Drang.
I don't know, but even in a cheerful tune like this, the singer sounds he's crying out his miserable life. I can't get this band.
There's cheese and then there's Muse.
Sounds like bad "Queen"!

Really not quite up to RP standard.

The lack of restraint is what makes it good. The new album is kinda "meh"...
A friend of mine was enthusiastic about a Muse song, to which I replied that I thought they are a bit over the top for my taste. His response: "Over the top is the point!" And so it is.
Good stuff!

Love this song and seeing it live at Arras Main Square festival back in 2006; it was incredible - what energy!

Sadly I think Muse have since lost the plot and sound too much like Queen.

Great song with lots of energy!
What an epic song! Happy New Year Radioparadise!
Love you people!

I like most music but Muse is absolute garbage!!{#No}
Don't like the lead singer's voice, so that makes this collage of noise even worse - {#Eyes}
