I'm surprised that people haven't figured out by now that RP does have some programmed blocks that are repeated. How much of RP is programmed is unknown to us mere mortals.

I had a friend who had a local FM radio station (commercial free and eclectic like RP). To run it 24/7 without a full staff of jocks was really hard (finding people willing to work for free under his high standards for pronunciation was probably a factor too). He relied on a fair amount of pre-recorded blocks timed down to the last second. This was in the late 80s/early 90s.

zactly, but people will whine with or without a reason. Bill and Rebecca take vacation too, so I'm sure they pre-program days/weeks of songs.

Very interesting point. It'd be nice if the Goldsmiths provided more insight into their programming goals and methods but perhaps that would be similar to publishing Colonel Sanders original and secret KFC recipe...
