Today is gonna be the day that they're gonna throw it back to you
By now you should've somehow realized what you gotta do
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now

Backbeat the word is on the street that the fire in your heart is out
I'm sure you've heard it all before but you never really had a doubt
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now

And all the roads we have to walk are winding
And all the lights that lead us there are blinding
There are many things that I would like to say to you but I don't know how

Because maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me?
And after all
You're my wonderwall

Today was gonna be the day but they'll never throw it back to you
By now you should've somehow realized what you're not to do
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now

And all the roads that lead you there were winding
And all the lights that light the way are blinding
There are many things that I would like to say to you but I don't know how

I said maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me?
And after all
You're my wonderwall

I said maybe (I said maybe)
You're gonna be the one that saves me?
And after all
You're my wonderwall

I said maybe (I said maybe)
You're gonna be the one that saves me? (That saves me)
You're gonna be the one that saves me? (That saves me)
You're gonna be the one that saves me? (That saves me)

I personally love Liam's vocals. Very nasally, but at least he doesn't sing as bad as he talks! You can barely understand the Manchester Cockney gibberish.  They were a good band. Noel could write some basic tasty melodies.
Sing Wonderwall drunkenly with my buds, have one more, drink go home with my girl. Perfect end to an evening.
Wow, just found I can finally listen to this song again.  Used to love this song till the radio killed it with overplay.  It appears I have been detoxed.   Thanks RP.

That was great. Thanks for that.
Less Oasis and more Stereophonics is also OK.

Listen to some samples of the other songs on iTunes or Amazon - don't wait for them to pop up on the radio...you could have a long wait.
I am always wondering why aren't any other songs from this album ever played? Are the other songs not good? I have heard wonderwall enough now
I'm sure you've heard this one but:
"My wife told me to stop singing Wonderwall.... I said maaaybeeee...."
DON'T MIND THE TUNE, CAN'T STAND THE BAND!!
I made a severe and continuous lapse in my judgement, and I don’t expect to be forgiven. I’m simply here to apologize.

What we came across in the woods that day was obviously unplanned. The reactions you saw on tape were raw; they were unfiltered. None of us knew how to react or how to feel. I should have never posted the video. I should have put the cameras down and stopped recording what we were going through.

There's a lot of things I should have done differently but I didn't. And for that, from the bottom of my heart, I am sorry.

I want to apologize to the internet. I want to apologize to anyone who has seen the video. I want to apologize to anyone who has been affected or touched by mental illness, or depression, or suicide. But most importantly I want to apologize to the victim and his family.

For my fans who are defending my actions, please don't. I don’t deserve to be defended. My goal with my content is always to entertain; to push the boundaries, to be all-inclusive. In the world I live in, I share almost everything I do. The intent is never to be heartless, cruel, or malicious.

Like I said I made a huge mistake. I don’t expect to be forgiven, I’m just here to apologize.

I'm ashamed of myself. I’m disappointed in myself. And I promise to be better. I will be better.  Anyway, here's "Wonderwall."

I enjoy the tune on occasion, but it's got a reputation...and it's not all good.  Banned for buskers at times.  https://www.dictionary.com/e/p...
We all heard it a billion times   and probably not the best song in the album but it's a fine tune. 7 from me.

Gotta laugh at the comments...obviously from americans who have NO idea about this band or the history....why do you just comment for the sake of it ?...either shut up or put down some decent info, not just blah blah..me,me..me...blah, blah.....shut it.

Banal, whiny and simply mediocré. Yet I still like it somehow.
Heard an old busker singing this in Weymouth (UK) - I liked the song after hearing that.

You're sure about the lyrics? Oasis lyrics are not the best.

For balance, I once witnessed an impromptu singalong of this at Glastonbury when a bloke started up on his guitar. It was lovely.
not a bad song, it's just that it reminds me of the gallagher brothers which sort of ruins it for me
Garbage.

A shame because this is a reasonably competent slice of 90s Britpop which, while it aged better than the performers, is still let down by association. I'm just sick of hearing it by now.

Noel seems to have aged just fine.  Last year's album by Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds is fantastic.  You probably wouldn't know because you seem to write off music/bands for the most cursory of reasons (some of which they have no control over).

The same folks who think Dylan can sing. Or Neil Young.
It's perfectly understandable to dislike this. I don't like it much. But if you stroll up to a bunch of Brits at a festival or wherever with a guitar and start playing it, you have an instant crowd singalong. It's weird really.
It's still a good song, folks.  You don't have to have a beautiful voice to be a good singer and you don't have to be unaffected by the past to make good music.
Before there was Coldplay there was Oaisis. Yes, both are derivative, but even a stuck clock is on time twice a day. This is one of those times
Tuneless, talentless Beatles/Stones ripoff

In the UK and Ireland it's an anthem! It's Oasis most popular song (apart from Don't Look Back in Anger which was the next single) and although they are derivative, some great tunes which have stood the test of time.

I want to like it, because when it came out it was good - at the time... But also, because both brothers are such complete and utter tossers, it’s impossible to like it now!
The best single of the 1990's

I've always wondered - WTF is a Wonderwall? Nice enough anthem even if the Gallagher bros are tits.

It's been brought up earlier in the thread, but "Wonderwall" was a psychedelic film from 1968 about a recluse who peers through holes in a shared wall (wonderwall) at his neighbor (Jane Birkin) and her boyfriend.  George Harrison wrote much of the film's soundtrack which appeared on his first album (the first album on Apple Records) which was titled "Wonderwall Music".
Please play the Mike Flowers Pops version of this instead.

ryan adams, being who he is sang this when he opened for oasis in calgary a few years back. nether brother kicked the shit out of him, so they must have agreed on the cover

Lyrics in this song unbelievably dumbass.  My favorite is the "word on the street": did you hear everybody "the fire in her heart is out"?  Very street. On the other hand, you have to love how this song managed to sound big and rock and roll without a single electric instrument.  That cello comes in like a Stax amp.

There are at least two Beatle references in this song. "and all the roads are long and winding", the title Wonderwall was George Harrison's first solo album - a soundtrack for the movie with the same name.
The very definition of a song that was played to death back in the day.

But I still like hearing it! {#Cheers}
Yes, Liam is a big baby, prone to tantrums, but this is a pretty catchy tune.
My favorite mashup artist, Neil Cicierega, did a chopped up remix of this song. It's a bit goofy, but I can't hear this song anymore without thinking of it. Some other dude did a really weird Machinima video for it using Team Fortress video game characters. I could do without the Full House theme song transition at the end, but otherwise it's worth a look or a listen!
I don't care what the haters say. This is a magnificent composition, exquisitely produced. The first time that cello comes in is breathtaking and the drum rolls are Ringo-tastic. This is always welcome.

Surprising hate for this song.  I like it and while I find the personalities of the Gallagher brothers grating, they made many great songs.  This is one of the good ones.
sort of like the song... i dont know why, awful band and real bunch of w4nk3rs.   i guess it was a good summer and I used to play it on open mic nights.

Have you ever hold any guitar in your hands? I doubt that. Chords are simple yet the sequence is great. Have at least a little respect for the music, just enough not to say "Can there be a rating less than 1?"
When Oasis is hitting on all cylinders, there is none better.

Whiny and banal! When he holds the word 'me' from '...save me'...it's nails on a chalkboard. I like the accompaniment though.

Doesn't he say "shave me" at one point? I think the drums and violins once made this song work but these days it's pulled down by the undeniably crappy singing.

10/13/14: this song has not aged well at all.
I kinda accidentally (waiting for someone else ) saw Oasis at Glastonbury some time the 90's.

After their set I distinctly recall the following exchange took place between my buddy and I:

Me: "Well that was good!
Nico: "Yeah but the signer's an A r s e   H o l e"

I think that this album and its predecessor were Oasis' best moments.

84 mad people voted this song to be a "1"

Like the rest of their work, lyrics are stream of consciousness, sound 'deep', and are actually stupid meaningless tripe.

Saw them at the Hammerstein Ballroom late 90's Intel New Music festival - and - my ears are still bleeding. I think plaster fell.
