A hand to hold is enough to know
there's someone who cares
filled your cup to the brim, we will
you gently let down your head
lift the tears that made you blind
if one day its all gone
came alone and you go along
knowing that has made you strong.
you're a light to yourself
you're a shadow of the whip
so much covered in misery
yeah, well, we all know
well, that's not it.
That's not it.
Oh no.
Broke your heart, will have made you cry
No, so will I be cruel?, well
come a day when its alright
You won't have to feel like a fool.
you're a light to yourself
you're a shadow of the whip
so much covered in misery
yeah, well, we all know
well, that's not it.
That's not it.

Sounded dirty to me when Bill introduced this song -
"Harry Manx and his mohan veena"
Do like this tune regardless

Average rating 7.2 makes me think you are in the minority. The beauty of RP is skip song, move on, but over 1200 have rated it lol slightly better than your, ahem, review.
ugh boring. Nothing original here.
please stop trying to make Harry Manx happen.

He does that same sort of "almost-singing" that Knopfler does, and it's a similar sort of "roots rock" chord progression to a lot of Knopfler's work. Their solos often have similar phrasing, but that's not unusual for acoustic guitar solos. I'm somewhat surprised the two of them have never worked together.
anyone else hears knopfler, or am i just old

Is this the love theme from Fifty Shades of Grey?
This one is hitting too close to home for comfort.

Hey all you Harry Manx fans, what would be a good first album to buy? I'm totally digging him, but Bill is playing his stuff from a bunch of albums, so not sure which one to get first. Thanks so much...
While I like this, for some reason I can really see (hear) John Prine doing this.
love all this guy's work.........
I like the slippery sound of the arrangement and the simplicity of the vocals. Cool tune....yep!
Shadow of "Bring that Thing"...
Saw him last year in this great old renovated church in Maine with exceptional sound. He was on stage with about 7 or 8 guitars and he mesmerized for a couple of hours. Never heard of him before I went to see him live. Love that Radio Paradise plays him. Nice going.
Every time I hear this....it digs deeper....great one.
Nice tune, "'Shadow of the Whip", and hello to you from London.
It goes deeply in my soul

wow almost a year between posts. Like the groove and some nice playing. A good transition to the next song Kumbin which I have not heard before - east west stream flowing along
Cool. I like the cord changes.
my sixth graders love this cd

When' he gonna fix that broken sloppy sounding guitar? No, just kidding lasses and lads! I love it as I do most of Harry's work.

Mr. Excelsior , I think the dictionary would give the description "superior quality" for your name. Is that a name you gave yourself?
I take it you consider yourself an informed person in regards to Mr. Manx. Apparently you've gone through his musical library including his approximately 120 published songs, six CDs nominated for CD of the Year, 14 songs recorded by other artists, winner of "Songwriter of the Year" 2 times in Canada, Canadian Blues artist of the year 5 times, folk artist of the year etc etc. (I got this info from his website <www.harrymanx.com> ) But you claim every one of the songs is the same. Regardless of the fact that he's recorded with at least 10 different instruments, spent 12 years living and studying in India and has single-handedly combined music of the east and west. Brother, you are just spitting in the wind. Are you perhaps a frustrated slide player. Get Harry's DVD, I've learned so much from it. Peace, Shaktiboy

Mediocre as he may be, at least you always know what you're gonna get with Harry Manx, because every single song he plays sounds exactly the same.

Not anymore...bummer
"You won't have to feel like Apu??"
Liking this, nice guit. Bit more of it would've been nicer........
This guy squeezes the pick like it's trying to get away or something. At least on what I've heard from him.
He plays with real compact movements too,at least on the 2 or 3 songs I recall.
Not bad
nice slide work o_O

Yeah, there's a "sameness" about the Manx songs I've heard on RP.

so it's not me after all!
Well, dog my cat, bring that thing. Hmmm...
Likeable, for sure, though I'm curious to hear more variety from Mr. Manx, RP.
Nice song, it's not bad... the guitar solo was cool and quite mellow
BANG...
Fantastic song
Sure do like Harry Manx, but he reminds me, irresistably, or Mark Knofler. Not exactly a bad thing, though.
mucho depressing :?
Ahh, the sound of a good university radio station.
