I think that may be part of the problem, actually.
sounds like the junior class recital....

Amen! Goddess, how did this zinger get included in any decent playlist?! I pray that it goes away!!

This is OK, but why play this instead of the Shadows? I fail to see the point. :?
If they're the ones who did the original way back when, let me throw out one possible good reason: recording quality. This is clean as can be. Very nice.
these guys are great to see live if you ever get the chance...

I LOVED this song when I was a kid and still do. WOW, RP you really do what you do oh so well.
My sentiments, exactly.
If Bill should need further encouragement to dig up and play even more guitar intrumentals, let this be just one small piece of however much encouragement might be necessary. Love 'em.
Well, I can't believe I'm saying this, but it wasn't synthetic enough.
Well, I remember this from the early 70's, off the "Popcorn" album. That was an all Moog synthesizer album. Besides the title hit, it had Tel-Star, Apache, Pipeline, Song of the Nairobi Trio, etc. This was actually re-released on CD in 2000 in the UK, with songs from the follow-up album too, but without Pipeline, for some reason.
This is OK, but why play this instead of the Shadows? I fail to see the point. :?

Yes, the three of them met in one of Fripp's guitar classes when he used to teach in VA.
I was in that class too, but Mr Hand got all pissed when I ordered a pizza!
wow, i remember this on pop's "hifi" when i was a wee lad....nice
Apache, FBI, Kon Tiki, Peacepipe. Wonderful music from the Shadows, backing group for Cliff Richards. The drummer & guitarist (Jet Harris & Tony Meeghan) made a few records alone, Atlantis was one. The Shadows are one of the few guitar groups that I quite like.
sounds like The Ventures (early 60's) - my brother played their music all the time. Great to have older brothers and sisters to carry you through the music of the 60's.">
ride ride ride ride ride ride ride ride Irrrrving...

CGT on RP! Way cool. FYI, they're on Discipline Global Mobile, Robert Fripp's recording label (King Crimson).

Wow. Cliff Richard played the drums on the original "Apache". Knowledge is power.
What a memory buzz. Thanks Bill. A whole lot smooter than the original. Although I love that one also.
An acoustic Dick Dale. Yeee Haaa

Hey, another Jorgen Ingmann fan! My dad had a bunch of his singles. I like his tone and technique alot better than this one actually. Those guitars sound like they're played through plastic milk jugs.

Reminds me of riding with my father in our 1957 Pontiac Starchief. Thanks
naaaahh - the original, by the ENGLISH guitar trio \"The Shadows\" is much better - much ballsy-ier. Bythe way; Chris Issac claims that the sound he heard on the early Shadows records was the inspiration for Silvertone. Not bad for a English Jehovah\'s Witness wearing dorky glasses....
play more cgt...
