You are the crown of creation,
And you've got no place to go.
Soon you'll attain the stability you strive for,
In the only way that it's granted:
In a place among the fossils of our time.
In loyalty to their kind
They cannot tolerate our minds.
In loyalty to our kind
We cannot tolerate their obstruction!
Life is change.
How it differs from the rocks.
I've seen their ways too often for my liking.
New worlds to gain.
My life is to survive and be alive
for you.
Holds up well...
My favorite song on the album is "Lather"... How young, naïve, innocent and romantic we were...
Once upon a time, a long-long time ago, in a land far-far away, where people who looked much like we do today dressed differently, acted a bit differently believed in a future that was not yet ready to become today

Blows Against the Empire
I think not
Blows was originally to be a Paul Kantner solo; the band was a sort of who's who of San Fransisco musicians.. The first few Jefferson Starship albums (Dragonfly, etc.) were very good. Non-Jefferson Starship, yes, was bad. I saw the first Jefferson Starship tour in'74 in Durham NC.They played the starship theme side of "Blows", a lot of Dragonfly and some Airplane hits. Kansas was the opener. An all around amazing show. A later "Jefferson Starship" played the Bijou in Knoxville years after. Also a great show, and without the just "Starship" dreck. The name included "Jefferson" only if Kantner was in the band.

hey, i was a 14 year old boy

He also said that "Crystal Ship" was about a glass of brandy. Sure, Jim. Whatever you say.
FWIW, the Crystal Ship refers to the oil drilling platforms off the coast back in the 60's and in particular up by Santa Barbara that were all lit up at night looking ships from the distance.
And this song, a 10 from a great album

Blows Against the Empire
I think not
I agree that Blows Against the Empire was quite good, but after that... Everyone seems in agreement that latter day JS were awful and apparently at least had the good grace to not use "Jefferson" in the name (although that may have been compelled by legal means).

Yep. My fave cut though is If You Feel.

Heady times.
Well, he was an authority on being boring, but this song is dreadful, particularly the lyrics.

He also said that "Crystal Ship" was about a glass of brandy. Sure, Jim. Whatever you say.
And he was right!!
He was DEAD wrong....
