Hey!
Well my temperature's rising
And my feet left the floor
Crazy people knocking,
'cause they want some more.
Let me in baby,
I don't know what you got
You better take it easy.
This place is hot.
And i'm
So glad you made it
So glad you made it
You gotta
Gimme some lovin'
Gimme some lovin'
Gimme some lovin' everyday.
Hey!
My head's a-spinning
And I'm floating to sound
Too much is happening
'cause you're not around
It's been a hard day
And nothing went too good
I'm gonna relax
Like everybody should
And i'm
So glad you made it
So glad you made it
You gotta
Gimme some lovin'
Gimme some lovin'
Gimme some lovin' everyday
Hey!
I feel so good
Everything is gettin' higher.
You better take some time out
'cause the place is on fire.
Better stop baby
I have so much to do.
We made it, baby.
And it happened to you.
So glad you made it
So glad you made it
You gotta
Gimme some lovin'
Gimme some lovin'
Gimme some lovin' everyday.
So glad you made it

I love it when I'm drawn from what I was doing by the background music and find myself juggling and foot tapping. Gotta comment on those sorts of tunes

I think I remember an interview with Stevie W in the NME when he said that, in future, he'd prefer to be know as an organist, rather than a singer.
Really.
Really.
RIP Spencer Davis 17 July 1939 – 19 Oct 2020
He used to play in Orlando in the 1990's at a lot of free venues here in Orlando, so he likely lives near here, as does [Jim] Roger McGuinn. I'd love to see some of the greats in central Florida jam together, post-covid.

Floor Filler. . . every time.

The bass line alone gives it a 9!!!

Great Song, but the background vocals are absolutely aweful!

As much as I realize that Winwood is a great and important force in rock and roll, I have almost never liked his non-traffic stuff. Ah well. There are plenty of other tunes out there.
Is Winwood 2nd from left on the cover?
One of my all time favorite songs.
So glad to have seen him play it a few years ago.
Danced to it on a local TV show "Teenage Dance Party" 1966.
What fun.

Saw Steve Winwood this summer at the Gorge when he opened for Tom Petty. He still rocks!!
it's amazing - that voice is coming from a teenager...

A bona fide classic. 48 years later and it still cuts right through the brain cob webs.
The posted lyrics don't match the sung ones. I didn't hear the word "higher". I think this may be the Top 40 version?
Stevie Winwood. Something like 17 years old.

That's a 16 year-old Stevie Winwood cranking out that vocal. Eat your hearts out you aspiring RnR teenagers!

Chicken Wire?
I think of one thing when this song comes on, Iron Eagle.
Doug Masters: This is Iron Eagle, he's not being moved, what's the hold-up?
Control tower operator: We are having trouble finding a jeep suitable for your, um, purposes.
Doug Masters: Bullshit, you've got a whole country full of them!
<pauses>
Doug Masters: You just lost a refinery!

I played this so many times when I was a kid, I'll be playing it on air-bass in my coffin. <9> Essential.
Steve played the organ on this and my recollection is that he asked, quite seriously, that the fans treat him as a keyboard player, rather than the vocalist.
And Stingray, Spenser Davis was promoted as a rock musician who had a (gasp) B.A.
Imagine.

I have had a very stressful day - not bad, but full of serious decisions and outside influences. I need me some down-time, and wow - here it is! Gotta dance while I can. Thanks, SDG - if I never walk again, I won't regret a single second of the music that rendered me crippled.
That is super. Long time no hear!

One of the best rock songs ever.
Bill, you're on fire today! RL then this - perfect to get the day dancing!
Stevie was really young when he sang with Spencer Davis and this song is still a great one. A great dance tune that also had bite.
Rock'n'Roll?
Atlantic/Stax R&B/Soul surely?
Danced my arse off and made a complete tit of myself to this soooo many times in my dim and distant.

You've got to admit it's a little discordant to see Dennis Hopper, a counter-culture hero, shilling for an investment company. I have no problem with people licensing their music or image for commercials, and I don't think much of the false culture/counter-culture dichotomy, but the irony there is just too much.
