I don't want to know the reasons why
Love keeps right on walking on down the line
I don't want to stand 'tween you and love, honey
I just want you to feel fine
I don't want to know the reasons why
Love keeps right on walking on down the line
I don't want to stand 'tween you and love, honey
I just want you to feel fine
Finally, baby
The truth has come down now
Take a listen to your spirit
It's crying out loud
Trying to believe
Oh, you say you love me, but you don't know
You got me rockin' and a-reelin'
Oh, yeah
Ah...
The truth has been told
Now you tell me that I'm crazy
It's nothing that I didn't know
Trying to survive
Oh, you say you love me but you don't know
You got me rockin' and a-reelin'
Hey, you know what you do
Oh, yeah
Ah...
I don't want to know the reasons why

IMHO, this album is the apotheosis of Fleetwood Mac. Yes, it was a massive hit, but that doesn't detract from the fact that it every single song was/is a gem. Buckingham's guitar solo is one of those "don't blink or you'll miss it" forces of nature that you want in every single, a supreme example of the soaring solo that lives only within the song. Superb craftsmanship.

All yours.
This song is not my favorite from the album, but it's a great example of what this amazing record suffered from. It's one of the greatest of it stime, but all the songs are so poppy. I even thought that as a young teenager. You just figure, well, it can't be that good because it's all too catchy. But as time goes on it becomes clear that, yeah, it's super catchy and it's just amazing song by song. Will be remembered long after a lot of formerly highly prized stuff from this era is forgotten.

Yeah, but when the Beatles recorded something that sounded 'bubblegum', it was still regarded as 'great'....This version of FM should be considered 'great'....the vocals, musicality; I've heard 'bubblegum', and this aint it....

How does one hear this song the same after the hilarious SNL skit with Paul Rudd?
From my favorite new SNL skit with Paul Rudd.
I -still- put this album (yes, album) on pretty regularly. It's one of those that is totally solid all the way through. 8+

one of the rare albums which are getting better from year to year.
when this came out i was disappointed. rumours being too much "pop" for my taste, then.
but now it´s quite clear that "rumours" is among the best albums of all time, although it is (on the surface) so "light" and "easy listening". the magic must have something to do with the fact that the atmosphere within the group was so tense then that one wonders why everyone came out alive of this snake-pit...

Indeed, although I surely never need to hear Rhiannon ever again! There are a couple of other Stevie songs that are equally as grating: Gold Dust Woman is pretty tired, too, although Lindsey's playing usually resurrects that.
Me, I still really enjoy listening to FM In Chicago, a '69 recording made at Chess Records.
I'm always amazed by the effortless simplicity and utter appropriateness of Buckingham's guitar solo.

Yes, Stevie wrote it!!! But it wasn't going to be on the album ~ 'Silver Springs' was too long (vinyl had greater time constraints, and you can only edit Stevie so much!), so the others decided this was going on instead.
HOW can you not like Fleetwood Mac??
I like this song....one of the few on the album that isn't depressing and brings back bad memories in general. They might have made good music but wrote depressing songs about their marriage breakups. Can't listen to that drivel anymore TBH
