Too many guitars.

To right Jay, needs all the extras and the build up like only Ennio can do.
Good song, but I prefer the original Ennio Morricone version.
pretty cool{#Bananajam}
Original so much better IMO
Ah, memories of a early, beautiful Clint, before he got to be an Angry Old White Guy who talks to chairs
Pants!
Wow,  almost makes me want to go to church, and  certainly to a hotel room {#Dance}

My favorite tune to whistle in an empty echoing parking garage.
Always a good song. This is different and in some ways better...
More beach bar sensibility... Nice as Summer slides into memories.

Always glad RP finds good tasty treats  to serve... Thank You-!

yes!! {#Bananajam}

But Led Zep's Battle of Evermore also does just fine!!!

Hmmm.  Was Niel66 referring to what followed back when he posted, or was he making a suggestion?
Following with Evermore this time just deepens the question.
Either way, an excellent rendition.

Dunno if brilliant (I think not) - but I certainly know BOOORING!

I imagine this trio playing DARK SIDE OF THE MOON!

Very Nice... Thanks...
Can't we hear Morricone do this now, and why you're going with the Italians, how bout David Lynch's guy - a little Badalamente(?)
Just discovered RP - broadening my horizon - start with a 7
Makes me want to watch that movie again, blondie!

One word ... gorgeous!

Ich gehöre zu den Bösen und Häßlichen und ich liebe es.
Made me want to mount up and ride into the sunset
Always loved a perfectly tuned guitar !

I still like the movie version best. It's so over-the-top. This is great, but smoothed out and much more musical than the movie.

Please, only once: A Pistol for Paddy Garcia....!
Just how many version of this song do you have in your collection, Bill?  I like them all.
Guitar night...love it!

Saw them in early April.  With a few electronic pedals, they could produce an amazing range of sounds.  The most impressive was where they did a song where they did a song sort of in a round. The first person would play notes 1, 4, 7, etc.  The second played notes 2, 5, 8, etc.  And the third played notes 3, 6, 9, etc.

This is just all kinds of cool.

This is a bit of all right...

Oh my god, I have this song on one of my playlists.  I love western theme music.  Great feel and getting me in the mood this morning!
Ennio Morricone "Unplugged"!

Lovin' it!

Holy crap, that guy can whistle! And that band rocks!

No doubt about it!  But is it fair to compare a septet to a trio?

Saw these guys last night at the Breedlove Guitar Festival.  Spectacularly tight and cohesive group.  Unfortunately, their recorded sound just can't capture the shear wizardry that is evident when watching them perform live.  Wonderful group!
Cartoon Clint
BRILLIANT!

This is pretty nice, not great, but just ... nice. It does remind me of a rather superior version, though:

(EDIT: jwb beat me to it - by 8 months. I must work on my reflexes, dammit.)

My husband took me to see this movie on our first date. And I am as over this song as I am over him.

Bleh
Saw these guys at California World Fest in Grass Valley last year. Great Show!!!! Love it. Thanks Bill.

Amen. And generally, more of Morricone's stuff!

reminds one of Clayderman.
I'd like to hear Dueling Banjos after this.
I saw them open for King Crimson and they played this that night.  Very cool group, and far more talented as musicians than their material demands.
lol

This is great after Calexico - I have great memories of 'Gun smoke' 'Branded' 'Bonanza' 'Virginian' 'High Chaparral' etc etc
This piece still gives me chills... Got the Clint Eastwood poster hangin' right over me! "A man's just gotta know his limitations"
Love it and cannot find anywhere to download it ...

Never heard of a "shed load". How big is that shed? My scale is half a glass, glass, stein, pitcher, six-pack, and I can't go beyond that.
i prefer the original but this is still damn good
eh! sweeeet!

From the sublime to the good, the bad and the ugly......lol! Very nice!
I saw these guys live opening for King Crimson in support of this album and they really tore up the place. Saw them later in a smaller venue and they were just as great, and were surprisingly fun to watch for a few guys sittin' around playing guitars.

R u kidding? How much more creative can they get and NOT lose the original base? These guys are phenomenal!
Brilliant musicians...love the updated take on a spaghetti western classic!
Long time since the PA had to work this hard!
Nice interpretation...but I prefer the original version from the movie.
I like it... a lot! Of course... I'm a guy, so I'm partial to this kind of thing. But I'm also a guitar player, and I appreciate talent when I hear it. I'll give it a 9.
awesome.
A good follow up would be Ween's "Buenos Tardes Amigos". Just a thought...

Hehe! Mine too!
Cooool. Just what I needed
I've listened to a lot of music by Ennio Morricone in the past (the original artist responsible for the theme of "The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly," as well as many more famous, famous movies) and I'll admit, I was fairly impressed. However, having listened to a great deal of his music, I found it lacked the emotional depth of the original. It sounded great, it's merely the fact that the song is so beautiful and well-known that remaking it is something I don't believe should have been done.
I like the segue from Calexico - Close Behind! This is pretty awesome, despite not having the proper "wah-wah-wah" sound :) Great stuff.
I can feel my mental sombrero growing wider by the minute...
hey wow. i got one of their albums out of the library the other day. i dont think i've ever heard them here! neat.
Too pretty. Lacks grit.

Yeah, nothing creative at all except an entirely different approach to standard guitar tuning and arranging. That's all. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guitar_Craft You may not be inspired by this track, but to say there's "nothing creative going on here" really does a nice job of undermining your own credibility.
Agreed. Sorry but I couldn't get the original out of my head...Woh Ha Ha!!! biologenius wrote:

WA WA WA.
I like the same transition in two forms - Close Behind followed by either one of the two versions of The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.
Hell YEAH!
Rock on. Good stuff.

I like this version, very nice.... very nice indeed.
when I was in high school there used to be a kid that wore boots and a string tie all the time, every time he passed by we used to whistle this song which pissed him off tremendously.
Funny, but please, not very often. This joke will get old quickly.
Gorgeous!
Excellent rendition of this classic
Love the pic of Clint!
Nice to hear this old spaghetti western tune. Sounds great on 192k!!!

The kind of thing that the crowds love on a cruise ship,
