I am sure of it, that one (that one right there, do you see it?) is looking right at me!

I've watched and posted about this one in Ohio for the past few years.  The same pair, Scout and Orville, come back and nest, there was a contest for school children to name the chicks last year and they show the banding as well.  One of them is laying on some eggs right now

The falcon chicklets are starting to hatch...we've got one so far today!

They're supposed to be hatching in the next week or so.  It was so funny watching them grow up, start walking, flapping their wings, then making their way out to the edge (all the while freaking out thinking one is going to fall), then flying along the ledge and to the top of the nesting box.  I watched when they took the babies for their check-up and banding and they were HUGE!  You can't tell on the cam how big they are...they still looked so little but when the hoomins took them, it was like they were holding a full-grown chicken!

I've also watched this eagle cam in the Norfolk Botanical Gardens for the past few years.  The babies are sleeping right now.  To give you a frame of reference on this one, the nest is 800 pounds and 8 feet across!  They had a nest for quite a while but it got destroyed in the bad storms that went through there a few years ago.  So last year, the eagles built a new one and all of the camera gear had to be moved.  It's funny how attached you can get to these birds over the interwebs

Oooh, momma's in the nest right now....when both parents are in there with all the chicklets, it's amazing that they can all fit in there.  The babies are at what I like to call Drunken Sailor Stage right now because that's what they look like when they get up to walk and flap around.

This cam has a clearer picture than the one in California! She's sitting on at least 4 eggs. Very nice!

Yeah she looks a lot more comfortable now. I'm glad it's just the morning sun. She gave us a great look at the babies!
