Hello peeps, I haven’t been around for awhile & I won’t be staying. I just want to wish all my friends here a very Happy New Year & a peaceful, healthy, & prosperous 2022. As of today I retired from my 40-year career in technology, which was quite the amazing ride. I started out as a large data center computer operator working deep nights, played a meaningful part in the UNIX distributed systems paradigm shift while working at the world’s largest brokerage houses on Wall Street, traveled the world, rose to be a CIO, which I decided wasn’t my thing, reinvented myself as an Agile coach & landed at the best place I ever worked as part of an amazing & innovative R&D shop, where I was called upon to use everything I ever learned & experienced to mentor those moving along their own journeys. It really couldn’t have been more fulfilling. All the while I never really had a career plan. It was more like acting in my own Forrest Gump movie. Run, buddy, run! In 2004 a co-worker turned me on to RP & I was immediately hooked. As the cliche goes, it’s been the soundtrack for my life ever since. I’ve found so many new artists here. And not the least our host Bill & his awesome wife & partner Rebecca, who together dreamed of something truly unique & special and then set about making it happen. I’ve made some good friends here who are also truly unique & special. Violins & birds & dragons, oh my! New wavers & hippies & deadheads & Greek gods and so many more. 
 
I participated in this forum all along the way, which in the best of times was mind-blowingly illuminating & fun. Kind of enlightening the way really good acid was back in the day. 
 
In the end I could never figure out how to consistently bring my best self here, and so like the psychedelics, one day I decided it was time to stop. I made an ass of myself & contributed to the general malaise. I will not say that I’m sorry, because I’ve learned that as the “talk is cheap” saying goes, is not worth the plug nickel in the back of the junk drawer.  I will offer an amends, which as you fellow 12-steppers know is about admitting the harm I’ve caused & pledging never to exhibit that behavior again, here or anywhere else. Take what you like & leave the rest. I’ve been a musician all my life, and if a personal loss of faith hadn’t occurred I would have completed my degree in music theory & composition & lived that life. But I can do that now, and will. I have a home music studio & will be focusing on composing & putting it out there somewhere. I’m giving it up to my Higher Power to lay out the path. And so I bid you all adieu & happy trails. I’m basically a social media ghost, so anyone wishing to stay in touch can PM me here to exchange IRL credentials. Again, have the best of New Years. See you on the other side.    ðŸ¥‚
