Sorry...I must have missed it in the article.  Who's dead? Somebody trans makes a threat and immediately retracts it... speaking to a therapist... and that's the story you want to talk about on the Gun thread in a week where old people keep shooting people who mistakenly knock on their door or use their driveway?

We talk about warning signs and how to prevent all the time.

But you're right, never mind, nothing to see or think about ...

Russia has us figured out: supply disinformation about scientific experts and immunizations -> a million Americans die;
supply disinformation about our leaders -> insurrection and social upheaval and cries of "2A remedies";
and then supply literal ammunition -> gun deaths rise, with our own citizens killing each other en masse.
Quelle suprise.

More US gunshot victims dying before reaching a hospital
The findings suggest that the growing availability of more lethal
weapons in the United States, such as guns of higher caliber and with
larger magazines, is leading to more people dying before they can get medical care,
said the article's lead author, Dr. Lauren Agoubi, a surgical resident
who conducted her research as part of her two-year fellowship at the
Harborview Injury Prevention and Research Center.

A mass shooting tied to a teen birthday party leaves 4 people dead and a ‘multitude of injuries’ in Alabama

Folks aren't tired of this yet? Oh...because it hasn't happened to them and we each live in our individual little cells. Consideration of others is an outmoded, liberal idea.

FTA: "The US has suffered at least 162 mass shootings in the first 15 weeks of 2023, according to the Gun Violence Archive. That’s an average of more than 1.5 mass shootings every day so far this year."

Read that again: That’s an average of more than 1.5 mass shootings every day so far this year.

Fair enough.

Must be my own personal biases showing, but I would have thought that American gun nuts would prefer to have all their ammunition Made in America.

You have to admit,  it is odd that the USA would import ammunition from Russia so Americans can kill each other.

That's why I would ignore the guns....and confiscate all of the ammunition one night without warning.  Make the ammunition illegal...keep the guns.  Biden enacted a ban on Russian arms/ammo in the summer, and the gun folks went nuts (even though it was part of our sanction policy...

should we really allow the buying of products from Russia if we have economic sanctions imposed?).

Sanctions against Russia have so far and will continue to prove just as ineffective as the sanctions on many other countries.

Iran?  Cuba?   Venezuela?

The sanctions against Venezuela were particularly interesting and confirmed the bias of many that Americans take intrinsic pleasure in gratuitously hurting others (or have no idea what they are doing).  The sanctions against Cuba and Venezuela demonstrate America's interest in keeping anti-capital leftist movement in Latin America alive and healthy.

Too bad Americans have lost faith in freemarket capitalism.

No.  Unfortunately, the right to deploy political violence is baked into your lovely 18th century constitution.

Besides suicide by gun is super popular with Americans.  FREEDOM is what counts.   The cost?  Dead Americans as far as the eye can see.

Indeed. I'm terminally sick of this shit and seriously wish I could relocate to someplace more civilized.

Vermont, Maine, Montana and Wyoming were mass murder free so far during 2021.

As long as you are not Muslim, Ontario might be safe.  The 2020 mass murder in Nova Scotia was rather unusual, so the province is still a relatively safe place to be.  I would avoid southwestern British Columbia.  Downtown Winnipeg, Manitoba too.
