You don't understand me
But if the feeling was right
You might comprehend me
And why do you feel the need to tease me?
Why don't you turn it around?
It might be easier to please me

And there's always another point of view
A better way to do the things we do
And how can you know me and I know you
If nothing is true?

What do you think that you are doing?
Who is the fool?
The fool or the fool that you are fooling? (fool that you are fooling)
And maybe I just don't see the reason (reason)
But in the court of my heart
Your ignorance is treason

And there's always another point of view
A better way to do the things we do
And how can you know me and I know you
If nothing is true?

You think you know how I feel
It's not that big of a deal
There's no such thing, it's not real
Oh

You don't understand me
But if the feeling was right
You might comprehend me
And I don't claim to understand you
But I've been looking around
And I haven't found anybody like you

And there's always another point of view
A better way to do the things we do
And how can you know me and I know you
If nothing is true?

I love anything Jack White does.  If its White Stripes, solo stuff, The Dead Weather or The Raconteurs. Just amazing playing and song writing. I have everything he has released. My favorite output would be this band with Jack and Brendan Benson singing and playing off each other on guitar. Amazing. Back in 2005 I worked the Atlanta Midtown Music Festival. I worked hospitality for 4 days. 130 bands on 7 stages in 4 days. I drove a gold cart around driving artists, management and delivering food. I had a ALL Access pass. I would stop whenever I wanted and went up on the side of the stage for a few minutes. I went up when Jack and Meg were playing "Ball and Biscuit", my fav by them. I stood behind Meg, looking at Jack. I was totally blown away. An amazing song and an amazing performance in front of 75,000 people in a long parking lot next to the Atlanta Civic Center. What memories. And I git paid to do it. I worked 3 years straight. Such fun. I would have done it for free!

Amazing experience, that's super kool

Put that in your pipe and smoke it, you existentialists!
I like Jack White . This band is cool .
Anyone else think Jack White looks like Michael Jackson in the photo?
I hear Fiona Apple. Not in a bad way.
Ah, so they do have other songs besides "Steady As She Goes".  Nothing against the band but most stations just fixate on that one song.
Iยดm pretty sure Neil Young wrote and played that one-note piano solo many years ago (but for the guitar)

This, School and Uncertain smile. Great piano
This reminds me so much of early 90's band, Jellyfish.

Same. Love Tori's playing, but her voice gets to be grating after a while. Could probably say the same thing of these folks though.

Acceptable.

Jack spun his yarn and the song went POP.
Yayyyy poppity pop pop.

Don't think so, it's just Jack's attempt to channel Steely Dan.

Just another story.

I wish that The Raconteurs stayed around a bit longer -- Jack White is BRILLIANT for sure, and I think he shines best in this band -- where he has other contributing influences to keep his "Jackness" in check...

Such a great rock'n'roll band.  As good as ANY.
This sounds like a Top 40 pop hit from the mid 1970's by a band appalled by the thought of such things. Oh, and it sounds great.

I first thought of this when I got the album, but then it got its own identity in my mind.

still love this album. this tune in particular. tasty piano indeed.
{#Yawn} What about a 30 seconds version ?
My favorite of any Jack White is this band - so, so good - just great rock'n'fuckin'roll, man!  Jack quirky, but with a reall solid rhythm section & poppy-esque co-leader to not have it derail too far off the Zepp/Beat path...

Thought it was jack white singing, very similiar style.

This is the first time I've heard this group. Good stuff. Musically has interestingly complicated notes. The vocals immediately made me think of Crosby, Stills and Nash. It's great to know that some younger musicians out there still now how to read music.

Well, the harmonies on this one are certainly in the Beatles' triad mode. And they have the voices to pull it off. I'd suggest, therefore, effective use of harmonic options.

6 times a month?  Ugh.  This one just grates on my nerves.  It's interesting the drop-off from 8-votes to 9-votes.  People seem to like this song, but not really love it.   Sometimes I think that just by being played many times, plus that it's Jack White singing, people give this a much higher rating than it deserves.  This is not a good song.  7.5?   No way.  {#No}

Hmmm. We can't have it both ways. Mostly people say that overplaying a song kills it.

Anyway, it gets a 7 from me.

Maroon 5 had a couple decent songs that they keep recycling again and again.  While moderately talented as musicians, you can plug any song into the "hit maker" equation and realize that they are all carefully constructed to get people to buy the album and not written and performed for the love of the craft.  In a lot of ways, they are a good example of what happens to what could have been an interesting band when the members get a taste of commercial success.  Artistic integrity was replaced with a fat stack of cash.
Love this song and this album. After I heard this I had to pull out the CD and give it a spin.

I'd follow this with Ben Folds Five's Battle Of Who Could Care Less...

Nice to have Musicians like Jack who make various projekts and music!
Awesome!

On the opening note I thought this was going to be that nasty RL Burnside tune.."Ah know iss bad"...

Sure sounds like Jack on this track.

Rock'n'Roll! GREAT STUFF!
Opening the windows of the passenger door in a car going about 80 mph...I stick my arm out and feel the wind redirect my hand and fingers...with this song blasting out through my ears. I'm singing along and enjoying every moment.
listening to this without realising it was White Stripes vocalist, it just sounds really pedestrian and ordinary. Nothing edgy or uplifting or moving.
I like this song, and the Raconteurs, but.....
I sure wish Jack and Meg White were going to be continuing the White Stripes.  That was a band with pure, raw awesome.  I'm going to miss them.
Very talented band! Like them!
 Jelani wrote:

I think I've only heard two or three songs by Maroon 5, so I can't really say very much about their sound.  Maybe there's something similar in the vocal style or harmonies, but that probably isn't unique to either group.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, there's always music even when there's talking, and yes.

"It Might Get Loud" is highly recommended for any fan of the electric guitar.  It's fun watching Jack White look like he's about to start squealing like a little girl when Jimmy Page starts playing "Whole Lotta Love" for him.
