Here comes Sadie
She's okay
She showed me her 45s
Down by the pool hall yesterday
Well hello Sadie
What's that you say?
Everyone's got the blues on Sunday
There goes Charlie
He's all right
He gave me a wet kiss
Outside the liquor store last night
Well so long Charlie
You're not to blame
Everyone's got the blues on Sunday
Turn to the left
Turn to the right
Till you see the man
Do you see him baby
With the wandering eye
Dig until you drop dig until you drop
I could be home I could be home
I could be home free
I've been digging down below
Maybe it's garlic maybe it's gold
Maybe it's mercy maybe it's fate
Maybe it's the thought of you on Sunday

If that ain't a Strat I don't know what is!
The bass line, the amazing vocals, and a sparse, simple arrangement - so effective.
Amazing!

Me too.
I am from Vancouver and this is the first time I heard them... My first thoughts were "nice new band from the coast." 30 years later... oops.

hi class

I had heard their song I Don't Want To Think About It on the Lilith Fair compilation CD, but I never took the opportunity to check into any of their other stuff. I like it.
a sleepy Sat. night
This was ahead of its time. I don't expect this sound coming from 1994.
This song, although pretty fantastic, needed another coupla, even one, more verse...killer voice...nice instrumentation to match....would rate higher, methinks....solid 8... only bcuz short length...

RP strikes again. Band I have never heard of, and I am digging it.
Interesting tidbit on the band from Wikipedia;
Wild Strawberries is a Canadian pop rock band consisting of married couple Roberta Carter-Harrison (vocals) and Ken Harrison, who are also, respectively, a physiotherapist and a doctor by trade. They have released a number of albums, their latest being Vesper 50 (2017).

Damn, thanks for that tidbit, Relayer!
I rated this an 8...really love that bass line and the grooviness of this song. Long Live RP!!

Saw these guys perform in Kingston ON, a couple of decades ago in a small student pub. Great sound, and super friendly people.

Sorry, old movies suck. I cannot watch them. I tried for years and years and finally stopped. Grad school noodling. Edmund Wilson could not watch them either, so take that.
Edmund Wilson?! - I thought you hated critics in general, and pompous, grandiose "culture critics" in particular. Well, we learn something every day. You so crazy.

To some people, a dripping faucet could be considered more upbeat than most Cowboy Junkies tunes. The vocals do sound similar but this seems more syncopated and/or funky than the CJs usually do.

I didn't know that. Of course, Woody's always been a great admirer of Bergman. Even worked with the master's DP, Sven Nykvist, on several occasions.

Also, for all you Columbus area posters, the Grandview Heights library is having an Ingmar Bergman film Monday night. (I don't remember which one.)
Funky, I kind of like it.

"Doctors by day, the husband-and-wife duo of Ken and Roberta Carter-Harrison formed a pop band called the Wild Strawberries to engage their spare time."
They should stick to their day jobs.
Howard Dean is also a doctor,go figure.
They have some good songs - Trampoline and No Way to Break My Heart are really good.
I concur with the opinions below of sounding similar to the Junkies.

Really diggin' on that funky little rhythm guitar part.

Somewhat. More like if Margo puffed lots of Luckies over time.
Cool track.
Wow! I really liked this. And no, it doesn't sound Cowboy Junkies to ME (an old, rabid fan of Margot). We're hearing it today as the Delta is pummelled literally to death. But that aside, I like this type of tune enormously. Not God-like, but really, really excellent. The next tune by Spiritualized is another GREAT, great Bill segue. Wow! Thank you, RP.
I got the blues today. Not Sunday. It is cold and rainy (it's JUNE, for chrissakes!), and I have too much work to do. Uggh. :(
