Good that you are both on the same page. Seems the other department head might be one of those "we've never done it that way before" kind that can't accept change and wants things to remain like it has always been. But then again I'm a long way away to know anything about him.
100% women in this scenario except for SFW*.
So that department is the campus PR wing, doing all the big projects that go out to the community with a consistent look and feel, etc. An absolute yawner of a job that I do not want.
My department is the mundane stuff like stationery, forms, plus club flyers, various books etc. Everything's different every day so it keeps me amused. If you need the PR services, you need to have a couple of weeks minimum to get a revision designed and through the review process and then printed (possibly by me, maybe not). If you need business cards, you put in that request with me directly and get your stuff as soon as I have a minute; no reviews required. So a person on campus has some big projects undergoing a full refresh and is looking at 3 months minimum, start to finish. But I rebuilt some small project for her and delivered within about an hour of her order coming in. She didn't understand/had no reason to know that it's a completely separate workflow so she must've mentioned it and the other team ... must've gotten defensive about it. I can't help that.
*I'm not allowed to put photo credits or design credits on anything for some reason but maybe, JUST maybe my stuff will have this. Those aren't MY initials!
She's confused too. But we both went home laughing about it so I think we get to just keep on with it. What it boils down to is my ADD likes to do quick and easy things right away so some people get their stuff done almost instantly when there's really a 2-week lead time on projects. Don't want them to get spoiled!

BOSS: Listen, what are you trying to do? Get us all fired?
SFW: Huh?
BOSS: You've gotta slow down. Pace yourself. Slowly! Slowly!
SFW: Sorry. Today's my first day. (Edit - first quarter / first review?)
So yesterday my boss let me know that she'd been called to a meeting with another director of a different albeit product-adjacent department. Long story, not important. The upshot: "Scott is too helpful and willing to please. It confuses people."
Most confused of all: ME
I'm with Haresfur. There has to be a catch. There's more behind what they're saying. Or they forgot to add '/s'.

WTAF? I always thought that was the mark of a good employee...How does your boss feel?

As an aside, I too have some scans from Seattle Film Works, but am finding that it's better to rescan the prints or negatives since you can get so much better resolution these days
I got this gadget that scans negatives to digital pics on my PC. I've scanned a lot of those SFW pics.
So i'm looking for something on my PC hard drive and i am looking in a folder called Pictures. And there's a sub-folder called SFW.
SFW? Whaaaaat?
Turns out they are old family pics from back in the day when i was sending rolls of films by mail to get developed. To Seattle Film Works.
