This makes for a full circle or full turn of the wheel kind of thingy.

This is a true story.

Way back in 1968 I was at Disneyland on a date with my now wife Patty ( I just checked this with her before posting and she immediately remembered this) and we ended up back in Tomorrow Land later in the day and The New Christy Minstrels were there performing on the stage. One of the songs they performed was That Acapulco Gold by Rainy Daze. Our jaws kinda dropped and hit the ground wondering how a song like this got past everyone. Back then, Disneyland was so uptight that they would not let you in with an untucked shirt. They even famously would not let Khrushchev in for a looksee. The song was a huge hit on AM radio back then, at least in L A. So like One Toke Over The Line, it was initially a catchy little song that in which the lyrics were not really recognizable for what they really meant. You heard it all the time so after awhile no one thought much of it once the mystique for us wore off. I guess that is how it got past everyone at the powers that be at Dland.

The same summer I actually had the good fortune to actually get some real Acapulco Gold. Paid $10 bucks for a lid, which for you young ones was almost an ounce. A two or three finger bag. The price in those days for an Oz was $15, which would have been a three to four finger bag, depending how seedy it was. And again for you kids, weed was very seedy back in those days. Now you can't find one and have to buy them. Yes, and it was in my memory one of the best strains I ever got to have, ever. Trippy at the least and for weed back in those days was saying a whole lot.

Now moving forward, back in my early days of being here and finally posting, I had the lyrics poking around in my head all these years and we had a help finding a song thread and I posted the chorus, where old dogs could learn new tricks, when the streets are lined with bricks, of Acapulco Gold ... It has been an ancient earworm song ever since I first heard it. Lo and behold richard in one of our earliest ever exchanges here answered back with the answer. Never forgot that.

A few years ago there was a short lived series called Growing Belushi. I still have a few episodes on the DVR. The was one were Jim went to a spot near Big Sur in search of finding someone who actually still had some real AG growing. It has long been extinct having been killed off during the Paraquat days. Evidently the rumors were true and he did manage to meet the guy and yes he was indeed growing it. That lifted my spirits a bit as AG has been one of those Holy Grails I've been thinking about all these years. People have also been trying to recreate the strain through breeding and it seems that some have gotten very close or close enough to be almost the same as the OG.

This summer is the 60th anniversary of my first toke.

The song that sparked this trip down this rabbit hole ...

There used to be a central bus station in my city, and the hash branded as "Green Turk" was awsome. Now process that: It was sold by a schoolbus driver! We are talking 1976.

South Africa legalises cannabis use. Will the rest of Africa follow?
It’s now legal for South Africans to grow and use cannabis. The next battle — making it legal to trade. A continent is watching.

I'll be doing a lot of studying about strains and their properties and have a list of what I want to try.  I want to find out what I've been missing from the pro growers.  I want to be impressed.  I would like to find something that knocks me right between the eyes and makes me sit down and smile.  Then I would like to find something that goes along with things like housework, stuff you would still be able to accomplish things and be productive.  Then we have to do one for chronic pain for P. Ideally you have 3 to 4 strains to rotate so you don't build up a tolerance to a particular strain.

My Mom's cat was just put on CBD by the vet to calm him down in his old age.  He was getting really pushy and biting her if she didn't do what he wanted.  The CBD has slowed down that process.

Haven't heard any reliable info on exactly how and when it begins.  Prolly just in time for Christmas.

interesting! has your mom noticed any other reactions from the cat besides calming/not biting?

We are now legal (at the state level) for recreational in Ohio.  30 days after today's vote. 10% tax plus any local sales taxes, usually 8%.

I guess that I will be soon visiting a dispensary for the first time ever and see what's up.  Yeah, Ohio is late to the party as usual so this is an old experience for most everyone else.

I haven't had to buy any for at least the last 20 years.  I'm hearing $300 for an oz.  or $360 cash.
