I’ve Been at NPR for 25 Years. Here’s How We Lost America’s Trust.

Uri Berliner, a veteran at the public radio institution, says the network lost its way when it started telling listeners how to think.

"There’s an unspoken consensus about the stories we should pursue and how they should be framed. It’s frictionless—one story after another about instances of supposed racism, transphobia, signs of the climate apocalypse, Israel doing something bad, and the dire threat of Republican policies. It’s almost like an assembly line."

You know me, you can guess I think NPR is left-wing biased. The evidence is strong. However, I believe the government should keep their hands completely off of public broadcasting support as it stands today. There should be federal support for art, free speech, investigative journalism and opinion programming of every shape, size and color. So NPR, PBS and most artists supported by endowments are liberal. I say, it's the conservatives' fault for not creating more art, for not starting their own public broadcasting initiatives. I mean this to an extreme degree. George Carlin said we should encourage, not denounce, racist bigots to speak their minds loud and clear... that way, we can find the sons of bitches. This must be true for anyone, ANYONE, who won't listen objectively to others. Goes for both sides. Your opponent can't be shouted down, because once you beat their opposition out of them, you're asking for someone to do the same to you. Censorship of any kind is the worst sin, because opposition to popular yet wrong ideas would be the first victim of censorship. Not the answer you were hoping for. Why do I DO this to myself?????
