It took me a while to realize that I wasn't smelling some awesome burger joint, but rather the wafting, odoriferous treat of incinerating lab monkeys.

I saw a blurb about that on a radio industry blog. It's the pet project of a radio engineer in the area. Way, way more pop than RP, but still a big step out of the radio-format box — & that's always a good thing.

Anyone know what happened to BobHere? I used to love his evening sets, enjoyed the angst from the guys who came after him trying to figure out how to come close to his flow. Still remember his goodbye set, where he explained and showed the depth of spirituality in the Grateful Dead (a response to a "The Dead are evil" thing that was going on at the time.) How about that... remembering someone's set this far along. Heck, would be interested to know what happened to Damien, Weasel... But BobHere was like a religion for me, if he was on, HFS was on.

In fact, the last time I had a radio station like that was WHFS in the Washington DC area. A set could thread through alternative, jazz, blues, classic rock, and the occasional classical bit. Then... they sold the station. And that is the last time I had a radio station to listen to where I am frequently surprised and often introduced to new music I'd never heard.
