This has been my hobby in one way or another since I was 12 yo. so yeah I like to show it off
Pick stuff up when possible and then when I had the house paid off I used some extra money to "fill" things out.
Mom and I split the cost when the basement was finished and on the bar, sectional and fireplace.
Should be finished enough to use by Labor Day weekend.
I'm just messing with ya. I'd love to put together a nice setup. If I didn't have so many other projects going on...
I have built a few sets of speakers, including a beast of a sub-woofer (twin 12" drivers in an 'isobarik' configuration), but now I've got two unfinished houses, four or five cars (I've lost count), four lawnmowers (ONE works right now)...
The center channel will be mounted above the TV. the wall mount just came today.
Actually this is the "secondary" entertainment station.
I am setting up a full fledged Home Theater in the basement. I already have most of the equipment including a 58" plasma but will have a projector and screen down there eventually. Here are some pics of the basement with all the stuff spread around the room
The TV (and scree) will be where the electric fireplace/heater is.
Sectional will be moved to face the TV
This basement is huge, in fact right now I am in my home office in the basement that I had the contractor do when he did the finish job on the basement.
Dig. You'd want to be able to get close enough to see the details on those.
Looking for something above the TV? I guess some kind of tapestry, even an ethnic rug of some kind. Something from a faraway land would tie in with the map and ship's wheel.
Or you could swap the TV for a projection unit, and turn the whole wall into your own personal movie screen.

They would not be on the upper part of the wall. Here are a couple more pics of the space (sorry for lack of light)
The oic would go on the wall between the doorway and the TV. It is 36"x24"
The clock would go on the wall about where the lamp is but higher

Both are really cool and deserve a good spot, but the proportions seem wrong. With a tall wall like that, I think you want something more vertically-oriented, and with fewer fine details.
But I'm not a decorator, so hey.
Those are two very cool pieces though.
